I know that the interest rate cut not directly aimed at mortgage lending! It is aimed to slow the downward spiral of overall lending and borrowing. The small cut will do the bare minimum in bolstering the real economy.

The way I understand it is its to try and encourage business to invest not convinced it works.

Great article in the Daily Mail showing how ludicrous UK prices are:

    http://www.dailymail.co.uk/news/article-3717348/Should-snap-cut-price-chateau-couple-did-swapped-two-bed-East-London-47-rooms-private-forest-moat-swap-pokey-flat-18th-century-castle.html

Admittedly they need work, but still a complete steal compared with the UK ones. No wonder the rampers on here want it to continue, what a great little bunsen burner if you can sell up your sh-tty 3 bed semi in Harpenden and move to a chateau in Normandy.

:) Completion in 3 weeks, and a price under what I thought would be required so not a shred of worry. It's been a long affair trying to get a new family home, since January, and we're so glad it's coming to an end. Just totally fed up of looking and being constantly outbid each and every time. The property market in posh areas in Scotland hasn't been affected as far as I can tell, and I've been keeping a very keen eye on every new home that's come up.

A client of mine has just sold their home after a couple of weeks for more than they paid despite the fact it was bought as a new build 4 years ago, because it's in the catchment area of a top school, the same school catchment area we're moving to. Our house needs some work doing, and I'm glad we got this one because it's only going to increase in value :) (waits to see who'll take the bait...).

Too many people are missing out on great opportunities after convincing themselves things are careering downhill when, in reality, they aren't. I've 60 or so properties on my rightmove watch list all having been listed since Brexit, all in good school catchments and all priced as they would have been pre brexit. They're almost all under offer or sold. There's far too much evidence around me of houses being fought over by buyers to be convinced things are anything but going well.

But that won't change the chirps of some people on here. I feel sorry for their girlfriends/wives wanting to settle down (though I do assume most of them are single). :A

Not talking about crash talking about speed of increase.

Interest rates were not cut to prop up housing market.

I`m talking about when the speed of increase suddenly stopped, the crash. Interest rates were cut to prop up the entire global Ponzi debt scheme, and that includes the housing market.

    Posh areas in Scotland???

Buyers wil continue to buy because the downturn has not happened yet.....The warning indicators are flashing but hard to say when it will strike. I would be very cautious at the moment (aimed at FTBs).

I'm sure that the derivatives market has double since 2008?!?

Crashy, I've found you a home. Lovely views, posh part of town... space for your slippers and magazine pile. Ideal. You just need to try and convince soemone to give you a mortgage now :)

How are you still waffling on about "tulips, debt junkies, ponzi schemes & liar loans". Why would anyone take you seriously, you've lost more money than anyone can imagine, getting the property market so wrong has cost you dearly (don't let it take your sanity too).
