I have a load of DVD's to dispose of and Music Magpie are offering - up to 50p on some (Simpsons Movie for example) and just 1p for Top Gear DVD's !!
I also have a couple of old DS's for sale - do they need the original supplied cartridge with them to achieve the maximum money ?

Music Magpie are very mixed in what they offer but, as with most trade in options, things are priced at roughly 1/3 of the price they'll sell them for or less (if they have a lot of stock).
The DS consoles, if they came in a bundle and the trade in is for the bundle then include the game/cartridge. If it only mentions the console then only send the console. They may not pay you for the game otherwise as they won't be expecting it. You won't get much for the consoles though if they're the original DS console.0 -
And be wary they will probably email you once they have it all and say the condition is worse and the offers are lower.0

True.
I'd recommend going in store when trading in anything for this reason (CEX, Grainger Games, Cash Converters, Cash Generator etc.).
Sites such as Music Magpie all have mixed reviews but a common issue is downgrading product condition. Another is lost items.0 -
Agree with all the above and add:
Be aware too that Music Magpie will take ages to "complete the deal".
IGNORE the time-frame estimates they will give you.
They will string the process out to take as long as possible; they did with me and I have seen many reviews saying the same.
The real-life (in MY case) time it will take from you posting your parcel until receipt of money will be three months.
Yes, really.
Of course, you MIGHT be "lucky" and complete in TWO months.0 -
Have you tried webuybooks.co.uk (I am recommending them twice on this forum. I don't work for them BTW!!). I have sold a lot of DVDs to them and the prices have been pretty good (better than Music Magpie) and the payments are really quick. I haven't had any downgraded or lost items. Admittedly I only had one downgraded parcel with MM and one where they claimed DVDs were missing from the box, although I know for sure that they were in there which is why I stopped using them.0

They changed a while back and now pay the same day they receive the items.0 -
never had a problem with music magpie personally and probably sold over 500 cds to them over last couple years
granted they offer very little so another option maybe a local facebook group , i know my local ones are frequented by buyers who sell at carboots looking for stock so maybe worth a look for you"If I know I'm going crazy, I must not be insane"0 -

Really?
Then read reviews on (just for example) Feefo where some are saying that their payments are STLL being delayed.
From the first (and most-recent) page of reviews:it took them three weeks to update their website acknowledging that my items had arrived at their warehouseHad to send proof of collection as a box was missing and then have had to chase several times for payment.0 -
I've had a look at MM a couple of times and checked prices. I don't understand why anyone would use them. If they offer anything above their minimum price then they'll be worth selling on Amazon.
If they only offer the minimum, I'd suggest bundling a few of them up and selling on Ebay as wholesale lots.
As mentioned CEX or Facebook may be another option..0
