Use a strange tin of something called 'Chinese hotpot' which came from Lidls (don't know why I, or more likely DH, bought that, but as we have it, I will use it). I was thinking of stir frying some chicken breast and peppers and having that with it.

This made me giggle. That well known authentic Chinese dish. Hot pot. :rotfl:

    Morning All

Sorry to hear you had such a bad night Maria

Hope the lunch goes well Determined. I'd go carrot cake...

Well. My hair didn't get cut in the end yesterday as we had not taken into account the fact that the baby would need holding by one of us....so the new plan is to wait till she has a nap in her buggy today and try again :)

Just been downstairs to empty the dishwasher but other than that a lazy start in the Bob house.

    See you later

    Bob

    Morning folks!

Thanks to DNMS for starting us off. I hope everyone is feeling good today.

Sorry for going AWOL. Tried to post on Friday, got half way through writing it then got so busy in work that when I turned off my pc, there sat my post still pending! Busy yesterday at home with OH too so just didn't sit down.

Still, lots of mse things going on. Meal planning, tidying, batch cooking, the usual suspects.

Also, not mse as such but found a pair of shoes that I have been gazing at for months reduced from £95 to £45. Snapped them up (using my pocket money). They may be too small though. I'm usually a 6, but often find I'm a size 5 in heels. No 6's left so took a chance!

    So today's list:
    • Run hoover over living room
    • Windows open to air the house
    • B/L/D from stores
    • Go through some of the drawers in the office. I know that there's rubbish in there to be binned
    • Took wraps out for dinner
    • Shop for lunch/dinner bits for next week
    • Stripped bad and wash on. Will peg outside.
    • Crochet - have made a few more adjustments to the pattern as I didn't quite like the way that it was worked - I thought it looked messy. I like my way better! Also found another teeny mistake in the pattern. Do you guys think that it would be rude for me to email my changes to the pattern writer?
That's me for now. May add more through the day. Have a good one all

    Addendum - Today's decluttering:
    - Large pack of incense sticks. Will burn one to see if they smell nice - *bork* smells like bins!
    - Pack of peppermint oil capsules. Expiry date unknown
    - Pile of old phones/cameras etc to be removed in an environmentally friendly way
    - old sim card card thing
    - 3 dried up highlighters
    - a random piece of paper
    - tonnes of ink cartridges to take to work as that's where my fountain pen lives
    - teeny tiny eraser clearly from school days (at least 15 years old!)
    - packets of leads for clicky refillable pencil: I don't own one.
    - tiny cheap novelty stapler clearly from Christmas cracker
    - two AA batteries of dubious juiceiness
    - drawstring sports bag with no obvious provenance or purpose
    - a load of leaves from the drain outside
    LBM 11/06/2010: DFD 30/04/2013
    Total repaid: £10,490.31

    Hello Lego mum

YL - I am going to light the wood burner later, too :)
There are 6 of them, and wool is the only thing I've ever known that every single one of them will go for. Got in from work one night to find that one (or more) had unravelled a whole ball of wool around the house. They thought that it was a great game while I tried to wind it back into the ball again.

It would drive me mad trying to knit with 6 cats going after the wool :rotfl:

:rotfl::rotfl: I thought it was funny too :D The ingredients sound quite authentic though - wonder if it is a weird translation thing? I will let you know what it is like, though I can't see me buying it again!!

CLF, I am a size 5 or 6 as well. I couldn't walk in those though

    Good Afternoon Everyone

DNMS - Thanks for starting us off today, enjoy your afternoon

Hi to all of the regulars and a BIG welcome to all the newbies, this is a really FAB thread with so many lovely, caring, considerate and supportive people.

Quiet day planned as not much to do, am currently watching "What to Buy and Why" which was on BBC 2 (Friday I think) - quite interesting, after lunch may persuade DH to go for a walk as the sun is shining (even if its only round the block) so I will:

    Check Banks - Done
Leftover stew for lunch (with added diced potatoes) -
    Walk (?) -
    Visit mum -
    Sort/clean mum's kitchen cupboards -
    Enter a few comps -
    All meals from cupboards/fridge/freezer -
Check https://www.freepostcodelottery.com - Remember there are now 5 chances to win -
    Check Lucky Phone - Done
    Read -

    Love to you all!

    Hi to all,
Not much to report today but an NSD as decided to have a day at home instead of going out.
*Did 2 more tasks from my Annoying Things List 1. Neither had any cost implications.
*Inspected the greenhouse. Quite a bit of watercress in there still, which will go skankerous if it drops below freezing, so will pick this week & make a batch of watercress soup.
*Two baths from 1 lot of hot water. I went in first. Luckily mr f not too.perturbed about the little flotilla of gold sequin stars which came from my festive bath melt!
*Popped downstairs first thing & put a wash on while still on cheap electicity rate. Washer on timer again for same tonight.
*Turkey slices in gravy for dinner.....froze some while I was sorting out Christmas leftovers.
Am a bit stiff in the beam end from this morning's patio clearing endeavours, so am having a relaxing time now, reading magazines & drinking coffee.....although cat is up to something. Not sure what. May have to go & have a look.
    Have a peaceful night, all.
