So if a driver in their 30s or 40s insures a Corsa, and the insurer knows they are in their 30s or 40s, the car will cost more to insure because young drivers may treat the car badly, even though the insurer knows the customer is not a young driver themselves?

the make and model of car is one factor in the quote, the age and experience of the driver is another and the location that you live and use the car is another

in the insurance world it can be a postcode lottery and for two postcodes a mile apart the quotes could vary greatly

No, because they take the demographic of the driver into account.

IQ - go and see one. I have one and love it (well, the wife drives it), utterly reliable and a good drive.

It is also officially the car with the least number or MOT failures (excuse the TIM website link, could not find a more reputable site but the info is genuine):

Just make sure you are ok with a car that can take either 2 people whilst having a normal small car size boot or 4 people and almost no boot at all.

You will love the turning circle, it's amazing.
