Morning All
Grey and cold here but no snow, seems to have missed us for now thank goodness. WM on with a small load, DW was on last night and has been emptied this morning.
Had friends children last night (10 and 12) whilst they did hospital runs, they were as good as gold, quite enjoyed their company. We watched Billionaire Boy on i-player and made some biscuits.
csarina - Glad the funeral passed with no problems, take time for yourself now.
TA - Sorry to hear your dreaded uti is back, it isn't wine that does it is it? I know you had a glass or two the other day.
Safe journey JackieO.
Sistercas, well done on the weight loss, I think I will join you from Monday!
Off to DDs this morning to try to re-seal the shower, can't seem to get myself moving today. I woke up at 5.30 and was wide awake. Next thing I knew it was 8 O'clock!
Take care. XX0 -
Morning, (((((((((((((((hugs)))))))))))) if you need one.
Bit of a grey morning, it feels quite cold. Yesterday was sunny in patches.
Once again I have to thank everyone for the support you gave and continue to give, it is much appreciated. I am, as I have said before a private person. What upsets me more than anything is the continued posting on Facebook. ......I suppose it will cease eventually.
I did sleep ok,I was exhausted. I heard from my youngest daughter last night, the migraine had gone and she had stopped being sick. She will be feeling washed out, but says she is going in to work today.
A gentle day today. OH will give me a hand with the delayed Friday clean, no plans to do anything else except read. I do need to sort out my Christmas bits and strips box though, could do that in the sitting room.0 -
Morning everyone,
Late start here as we didn't wake up until nearly 8, girls walked, fed and now snoozing in baskets.
Had a lovely evening last night, meal out with friends at a country hotel/pub. Had roasted cod on pancetta and pea risotto, followed by brownie with HM cherry ice-cream, delicious. I drove so just a soft drink, clear head this morning.
Bit of dusting needed this morning and will try and get a load of washing out, if not will use the airers.
TA. - sorry to hear that you are feeling poorly again, my heart goes out to you, has been going on for so long.
Csarina. - hugs to you, is it worth just dipping out of FB for a while, at least then you won't know what's being said, leave them to it.
Take care everyone and have a good day x0 -
Good Morning everyone grey and damp here today but other than a short very sharp shower earlier it's still dry. We had such a nice day yesterday, DD2s new house is really nice with large high ceilinged rooms and all that needs doing is a bit of decorating to make it a lovely family home, they chose well. Zebra was on fine form too and we played, read books, chased each other, read books, played with the train set, read books and I got the first unprompted cuddle from him I've had, it was so lovely. We walked to the local shops to get lunch and as we turned into their road on the way back a small voice in the buggy said 'Mumma, HOME!' so I think he's settling after the move. The house has a nice lawned garden which is fully enclosed and Zebra will love that in the nicer weather and French doors out onto a raised patio from the dining room which again will be so nice in the summer. I even managed to get a visit to the vegan scoop shop there, got some lovely ingredients I can't get here and am now set up for curries for some time to come, lovely!.
CZARINA so relieved for you that Nicks funeral was not disturbed by inappropriate behaviour and disturbance, a big enough ordeal for all of you in its own right without that to cope with too. He would be so proud of you both.
Have a nice day everyone, Lyn xxx.0 -
Older dd is coming to drive me to slimming club and will make breakfast after we have been there. Middle dd has stayed overnight so she will have something with us.
I cooked a chicken yesterday so can make a stir fry, curry, chicken and chips etc for later today. Not sure if one of the dds will drive me outside town to get to big shops but if not I have enough to manage with.
Youngest works in Liverpool city centre and got caught up in the bomb threat yesterday! Her office was cordoned off and they were not allowed to leave while seeing other buildings being evacuated around them and armed police and the bomb squad. Thankfully she is fine albeit a little surprised.
Csarina
I agree with the idea of not looking at faceache as DH used to call it. Well done on your composure and dignity while being in such pain yourself.
I was chatting with middle dd last night and she mentioned the pizza wheels I used to make for her friends when they came round. Turns out one of her friends is getting married and has ordered pizza wheels as a starter as she liked mine so much.
Hugs to all"This site is addictive!"

Got a wash on the go atm and another to go in. will try to get them on the line for a while otherwise it will be the TD as I am trying to avoid the airer due to damp problems.
DD and I are out tonight for a girlie dinner which will be nice, we are trying to do it once a month.
Have good days all xx0 -
Have just melted down some old candles that we couldn't light any more and turned them into a new one. Hopefully this will burn well now that I've done it

Is this easy to do? I've saved some old remnants because I would like to do this. What do you use for a wick?
I melted the wax in an old oven proof dish, in the oven. Weighted down some cotton string and placed them in an empty cookie tin, held up by skewers so that the wick was straight. You have to weight them down (I used tacks) otherwise the wick will float, and then I've poured the hot wax into the tin
