Yes that's the actual car. Managed to find it on auto trader luckily.

I suppose they might say that's the replacement key they purchased from ford?

I'm going to ring the garage first.

I would contact them and ask why the car is advertised with 2 keys, the hire company that is.

I would put it to them they have made an admin error in billing you for the extra key, make sure you get screen shots of the advert and pictures first.

    Right thanks for the advice.

Wouldn't they normally replace any missing keys before selling it on or would they just take the hit on the price.

Any lex auto lease people reading this? :)

    Hi,

Good outcome. I called the place selling it and they said it came in with 1 key as the other one was damaged.

I called auto lease and to be fair they were very helpful. She scrapped the £140 charge and apologised without hesitation.

I also queried the excess mileage as it included the miles from my house back to their base. 300 miles!

She has changed the mileage as well.

    Good result.
  • Hi,

Just before hand-over. I take photos on the millage, service book, spare wheel nuts, keys, etc plus all the photo of the individual panels and interior. The leasing company find 'faults' during the second inspection and make you folk out for jobs that are not completed on the car. Stick to your guns and months later they back down and withdraw the charges.

    Regards

    Good result.

I've got a VW going back in a few months and fines at the end of contract seem to be more common now so already half expecting a bill from them.

Just stick your guns and they move on to a softer target.
