Can anyone share their favourite porridge recipes please. I'm trying to eat it now but by the time I've done it with milk and added a bit of sugar it's not very slimming I don't suppose.
Better than how my mum introduced it to me years ago. Add evaporated milk and a knob of butter:eek: delicious mind you lol.
I had a weight scare the other day . I don't weigh myself very often but when I did I was a stone heavier than round about Xmas time :eek:. I didn t feel any fatter etc. Bought some new scales from Argos , the type similar to dr s surgeries , don't like these digital ones lol. When I weighed myself I hadn t put another stone on thank goodness.
Tried on my old scales and was back to normal. Don't know what I did but it was a nasty shock I can tell you
I usually make mine with semi skimmed milk and a spoonful of desiccated coconut. I'm not sure that's much healthier :rotfl:

Or you could serve savoury pancakes with your main?

afternoon all - a culinary emergency - is anyone around to advice
I've just been to make the Yorkshire pudding batter and realised I am out of flour totally. I had a betty crocker pancake mix in the cupboard so I've made this in a jug with a bit of extra water and a spoon of baking powder. I always let the mixture stand and then give it another whisk before I put it in the oven
but is this mixture going to rise or not - obviously its an out of date mix
you just need water with these mixes and no eggs?
the worst of it is that I've just done a sweep of the supermarkets but my head is still full of cotton wool and the lack of flour never occurred to me.
If the pancake mix doesn't have any form of dried egg in it, I would chuck in one just to be sure. Otherwise should work fine, they're basically the same mix'I solemnly swear that I am up to no good'0 -

Reading these posts about difficult decisions reminds me of one of my fave books , Richard Wiseman's 59 seconds.
It's a self-help book based on research with bite-sized summaries; useful and fascinating, and devoid of waffle. Well worth a read.
Thanks! I might buy this one. Just looked at the overview, looks fascinating.
One of the tips (advise shortcomings early on) reminded me of when I sold a house over 30 yrs ago. It was such a bind (with young baby) having to travel 20 mile round trip for viewings and one day I was so fed up that when I got there, I told the viewers (nicely) that they were very welcome to look round but they probably wouldn't want it as the glass-fronted boiler continually fogged up; accessing the heating pump meant lifting floorboards; work needed doing on xyz, and so on. It was a bit of an anti-sell, really.
They made an offer within half an hour of leaving and bought it.“All shall be well, and all shall be well and all manner of thing shall be well.”0 -

You are welcome - shows MSM isn't always reliable (and we know apg does not use it now).
I have a test shop later for Power and a few candles as I am having to traipse over there to check the prices anyway so thought I may as well order too and can always reject if full price.
