No idea where to post this so thought I would try here.
My husband has been applying for a couple of loans through different companies. But one of these companies passed on his details to some other company and they have used his details and his mobile number and have run up a £500 bill. He's never had any contact with this company and didn't know anything about it until o2 messaged him to say they are cutting him off then he found out what had happened.
O2 are saying he has to pay the bill which is now way over £500 then he can change his number once he has paid. They won't try and do anything as they said he could of done that himself. We didn't even know you could make transactions on things using a phone number ? And this happened pretty much in one go and he has been phone less since New Year's Eve. Is there anything we can do ? We don't have that sort of money. Wish we did

I am confused.
Simply having your phone number won't incur charges on your mobile plan.
He must have his Data turned on and apps working in the background, international calls ?0 -
