Private Parking Appeals Ltd asking for bank transfer?

I got a ticket from Parking Eye a few weeks ago and logged an appeal with Private Parking Appeals Ltd.
I was a bit surprised when it said i couldn't pay there and then.

I received an email a few days ago asking me to pay by direct bank transfer. This seems some what dodgy to me as i would have expected to pay by Paypal or using my card. I know i have protection with Paypal

Is it a risk paying by Bank transfer to this company, but am concerned about paying for a service this way?, or is this lack or ability to accept cards, or a Paypal account a worrying sign?. Do i get any protection if i use this payment method? I know its only a small amount but alarm bells are ringing.

I thought you just signed up to Paypal and got an account. Should they have just provided me with Paypal details or do Paypal not allow everyone an account?

Advice please.

I have used this method for years with no problems.

Where did you find this company? Is this the one on Parking Cowboys site?

We have regularly seen grumbles about this outfit, and paying them via paypal did seem advisable to get the advantage of PayPal's extra help for customers when wanting a refund!

Maybe they stopped using PP following too many chargebacks???

Thank you in the end I have used appeal my ticket Ltd who were immediately able to take a credit card payment. To the deep, I use this method for paying bills to big companies but have been told that companies like this should accept cards with no problem. I was sent a private message on here by someone with a lot of posts who told me that the company would most likely have been unable to get a Paypal or merchant account like cardnet because they were classed as high risk and due to the number of charge backs they had previously with Paypal.

souds like you paid sc@mmers instead of the only company that had mainly good feedback, plus you dont get protection on credit cards for trivial amounts

no idea about your original question, but I think you went from the frying pan into the fire
  • I just went to google to look up the company (appealmyticket) and to look for reviews. I could not see any independent reviews so would be very wary of it.

Over the last few months I have helped a few people get a parking eye at Aldi cancelled, a couple of smarts at ASDA, and a CP plus at a motorway service station. from this I have been given a few bottles of beer, and had a cake.

    I assume these are non-returnable ? ;) LOL
  • Gone are the days when I used to make my pocket money by returning bottles to the Offie.

  • And the days when pocket money could be supplemented because the offie kept the returned bottles out the back in plastic crates
