Vodafone Home Broadband - views?

Hi, does anyone have any views on Vodafone home broadband, good or bad? I'm a Vodafone mobile customer and have had a few flyers promoting their new home broadband service but can't find any reviews for the service yet. I'm not unhappy with my current broadband provider (Plusnet) other than the fact the speed can vary ( I think this is a common issue..? I've raised it with them) and it can take ages to get through to Plusnet on the phone. Thanks.

Its going to be down the same pipe as your PN service and with the troubles of Vodafone mobile i would steer clear .0

My view may be biased as I work for Vodafone on the fixed line side, but I've had it from day 1 and think it's very good.
Vodafone uses their own equipment in the exchange, so it will be an LLU service (using the old Cable & Wireless infrastructure). They have the same Fibre/FTTC broadband footprint as BT and speeds would be practically identical.
The router is decent, I can get a strong signal two floors up and have two consoles, a TV, 2 mobile phones, 2 laptops and 2 tablets connected with out issue. I can also boost signal to a specific device using beamforming.
I work from home so the requirement for decent broadband (my BB is exactly the same residential broadband anyone can get) is essential. I had BT previously and the speed is identical, however the VF router is far more stable than BT's HH5 offering.
Biased opinion aside, I would recommend it. Ignore JJ Egans comment about mobile issues - the fixed line and mobile parts of the business are completely separate and use totally different infrastructure.0 -
My comments really applied to the company as a whole .Its not just the mobile issues but the way Voda have dealt with them and the recent report from OFCOM .
As an aside i find the BT HH5 very stable .But as your router uses beam forming it will be a step up from current models on WiFi .0 -
My HH5 would regularly disconnect various devices for no reason. Since switching to VF BB 6 months ago all my devices have stayed connected. I've had no reason to contact Vodafone customer service, so I couldn't comment on the way they have dealt with complaints/issues. The BB offering has run very well so far, far better than the BT Infinity 2 service I had prior.
There was a common issue with the HH5 that caused the Wifi to drop out. That issue was never properly rectified, for me anyway. I was glad to be shot of BT.0 -
I switched from sky to vodafone a few months ago and have had no issues with the change over or the customer service.
For the same monthly cost as sky I have:
* Free weekend and evening calls (sky charge for this).
* Free voicemail (sky charge for this).
* The ability to pay the line rental up front for a discount (not available on sky).
* A fibre router that includes the modem so no need for the openreach modem any more.
* A newer router with 5Ghz wifi.
* A companion all for the router that is actually quite handy compared to always logging in to the router GUI.
A lot of people like to sling mud at Vodafone but I have not had any issues with them.0
