The third part of Justin Cronins The Passage series is out on the 24th of May.
I'm reading A Dark Anatomy by Robin Blake, it's set in 1740's England and is about the murder of a squires wife told from the point of view of the coroner. I wasn't sure when I started it if I would enjoy it but a couple of chapters in and I was hooked I should finish it today.
I started Trudi Canavans Thief's Magic but didn't enjoy it as much as I thought I would so have given up on it, I was the same with her Black Magicians trilogy.

The Pied Piper was a great book wasn't it I had been trying to think of the name of it over the weekend.
I have to pick up the C.J.Sansom book Dominions this morning from the library that I ordered last week recommended from this thread :):):)
  • Not a book (and so slightly off-topic), but there's an excellent zombie computer game called The Walking Dead (by Telltale Games). The reason I thought it would be good to mention it is that it's a narrative game, where the writing is the strong point. You make choices about what to do and what to say to different characters, which in turns changes the storyline. It's more like watching a movie/reading a book where you have various ethical dilemmas to solve, and there are no easy answers.

I'm working my way through the Poldark series (for the second time), they are very well written but I'm sure Winston Graham would have been less talked about now, like some of the other authors mentioned if it wasn't for the television series (both of them).

May I join please. I love reading but never buy books, I get them from the library or off friends. Last night I finished I do not sleep by Judy Finnigan but cant say that I really enjoyed it that much.
Its about the desperate need of a mother who has lost her son when he went sailing off the Cornish coast, however his body has never been found and until she finds him she cant move on.

OH and I both loved Dominion, but later I found that it was too much of a lift from Homage to Catalonia by George Orwell.

Edit: I've mixed up Winter in Madrid and Dominion! Sorry!

Words, words, they're all we have to go by!.

(Pity they are mangled by this autocorrect!)
  • Now this is intriguing!

I read Homage to Catalonia a few months ago and thought it excellent. Should I go for Dominion now?
