I chose St Andrews Square because I once went to a clients office there. It's a 10 minute walk from Waverley station if I go to Edinburgh and fancy going there!0

It doesn't really matter which branch you pick - if your based in different part of the UK, What are the chances you need to go the actual branch?
As mentioned in this thread - It's just to generate your sort code, as is the same with any other accounts you have.0 -
Surprised we haven't seen a 'Club Bank of Scotland' type of account yet. I wonder if they're planning to come up with a new product at any time and ditch vantage?0
-
Hopefully they won't. I'd rather keep 3 x 3% Vantage accounts.0

Pedantry alert - it's actually St Andrew Square, although you're far from alone in adding the spurious 's'! Nice place to be over the festive period though....
Whoops, my apologies.
I shall refrain from opening a further account there for a week as a self-imposed penance for my error!0 -

Vantage is still a pretty competitive offering and BoS have a large enough market share in its target market.DEBT FREE!
Debt free by Xmas 2014: £3555.67/£4805.67 (73.99%)
Debt free by Xmas 2015: £1250/£1250 (100.00%)0 -
It's rather odd that they invite you to 'add' Vantage. It's free, so only the very dim will miss out on the full interest.0

Also, worth noting that Halifax branches in England can deal with some transcations on this account. Paid a cheque into my local Halifax branch this week, using the Bank of Scotland debit card. Think I chose a small Scottish island as "my branch".0

So they don't need to pay 3% to the less savvy who have chosen BOS.
BOS is the 2nd biggest Scottish bank and an established player.Kernel_Sanders wrote: »It's rather odd that they invite you to 'add' Vantage.
