Bank of Scotland Current Account

In the MSE email of 6th Jan 2016 there's a link to Bank Accounts that can be used as savings accounts, the BOS classic with Vantage looks good but.....
Has anyone in ENGLAND worked out how to apply for an account online, I've tried, but at the end BOS wants to associate a branch (fair enough) but as all the branches are in Scotland they won't let you go any further.
Anyone else tried, and found a work around?

Yes I opened 2 accounts with them and live in Tyne and Wear.
At point when asked to nominate branch simply use their "branch locator" and select any branch( I chose one in Wooler which is nearest to me.)
The only reason you have to select a branch is that it is needed to show the sort code on the debit card.

I think Wooler and Berwick Upon Tweed are the only branches in England.

    My branch is in Edinburgh.

    Makes no difference.

Same as above. Just pick Edinburgh. No impact on the account.

I'm guessing you have already got accounts with TSB, Nationeide, Lloyds and maybe tesco?

Tesco also pays 3% with out a minimum pay in, but only upto £3000

Can't Halifax do this for you? After all they do come under the same company 'HBOS'

Why wouldn't they let you choose a Scottish branch? I chose Motherwell, on the grounds that it would be the easiest to get to by train if I ever had to visit it in person! As it turned out, they'll let you show ID at a branch of Lloyds. The Fraud Operations for both banks are in the same building (probably the same room).

I chose Peebles, because I liked the name...

I live on the south coast furthest away from Scotland...

Just choose one that's furthest away from you for the "LOL" factor. As previous members said - doesn't really matter, you just need a branch associated with your account as this is how they determine your sort code. (different branch = different sort code)
