You have your get out of jail free card, use it wisely.

Well, I'll let you know how it goes. If I win I'll send you a Christmas card this year ;)

Like Columbo I have one more question.

Earlier you asked if the PCN was issued for 'restricted street during prescribed hours' (i.e. for being on double yellows). If in the photographic evidence the car is clearly not on double yellows but well onto a driveway-come-footpath does this mean anything, in relation to the technicality of why the ticket was issued?

No because yellow lines apply across the entire width of the highway from property boundary to property boundary (not just on the road between the lines) so if you park on a verge or footway the 'other' side of double yellows for example, they still apply.

Your saving grace is ONLY (but perfectly legitimately) the unloading exemption which does what it says on the tin, exempts you. It is reallly that simple but do make an effort to prove it with a neighbour's corroboration and some photos of the baggage (bulk it out and pile it high, take some snaps of those suitcases etc, to illustrate your point).

I'll look out for that virtual Christmas card here in 11 months!

Please delete this post above, peadar. It has NOTHING to do with a council penalty.

Of course you don't just pay. Did you miss the 'NEWBIES READ THESE FAQS FIRST' thread near the top of this forum? Read it, no reply here.
