Nationwide recommend offer with join account from another bank?

I have a nationwide flex account as my current account.

My husband and I have a Halifax joint account that he uses for his main account (e.g wage paid in and all our house direct debits come out of)

If recommend my husband using the switch service to a nationwide joint account will we be able to receive the £200 cash incentive for recommending a friend?

Alternativity if this is no can I go into Halifax and have my name taken off the joint account so it effectively becomes his sole current account. Then recommend him to switch this to a nationwide one and then get myself added to his new nationwide account thus making it a joint account?

We want to switch to Nationwide anyway the £200 would just be a lovely bonus

I don't see any problems with 'alternative'. However, you both have to go to Halifax together to take your name off.

Or alternatively go to Nationwide for 12 months collect £200 (via refer a friend) as a couple possibly supplemented by up to £75 cashback via TCB/Quidco - and then move to TSB in 12 months.

TSB's 5% is only paid on £2k - and they may well introduce a switch offer again as they did for a period last year.

Remember Nationwide could be a £400 payday if there are two of you (and maybe even £550)...if you play your cards right.

Read the T&C's for nation wide refare a friend, make sure you understand them.

There is also a Q&A section and 1 of the questions is about referring yourself as part on a joint account. Have a read, you might be able to do it with out taking your name of the account.

I wasnt sure if you were allowed to refer a joint account if you are one of the account holders as it would really be referring yourself?

    Is this through joint accounts?

And do you have to keep the direct debits coming out after switching the account?

    Cheers

I had sole accounts in mind when I made that post.

If you do it'll say so in the incentive T&Cs. Does it?
