Dog walker not walking dog

I imagine a call to the tax office might be in order, anonymously, of course.0

Two things spring to mind:
- it's been said above that any "claim" could only be for dates you have evidence. This means that to gain evidence the dog has to suffer for more time and the dog walker get paid for nothing, while the evidence is gathered. In short: no point.
- I said two things, but now I've got to this point, the above covers it. No point.
Just sack the dog walker. Tell/show them why. Listen to them whining if you wish, then shut the door in their face.
Then report to HMRC and slam on FB if one feels the need to have a public spat.
At least she knows now.0 -
Your friend needs to challenge the dog walker with her evidence.
I did read of one owner who was off sick and the dog waker did not know she was in the house.Like your friend she discovered the walker did not walk the dog but sat and ate her lunch and then left.
She immediately cancelled the arrangement.
I don't see much prospect of her getting money back, except perhaps the two occasions she has proof of.
Has the trainer got a facebook page your friend can comment on to tell others what happened?
APDT code states that they must not bring the APDT into disrepute so a complaint to them may be appropriate.
A letter to the local paper?.
Exactly what happened to me and exactly what I did.0 -
It's not words that count , its actions.
I hope your friend or you can eventually expose them if it's appropriate.
How long has apdt been established?
If they area" paid for membership" it probably means nothing
I know the kind of organisations you mean, but APDT has been established since 1995 and has a good reputation in the dog training 'world'. Membership is by application and assessment, not just paying a fee. They require you to meet a code of conduct, perform ongoing CPD, etc.missbiggles1 wrote: »I imagine a call to the tax office might be in order, anonymously, of course.

Friend is going to speak to the walker, but friend's partner wants to just sack the walker with no fuss. Friend is reluctant to let the walker just get away with it, but they live nearby so I can see why the partner doesn't want to stir things up.
We're both thinking a complaint to the APDT may be a way to get the walker investigated without it being directly traced back to friend. I'd personally be posting the second video online for all the walker's customers to see, but that's just me!
Friend isn't too fussed about recouping the money they've spent, but is there anyone who would look into the fraud side of things (aside from APDT) with the evidence there is (the two videos)?0 -

To prove fraud you have to have deliberate deception As a few posters and myself have mentioned , at this point you probably haven't enough evidence because she's likely going to say it wasn't deliberate, she was ill etc and it was a short term thing.
That's why I suggested you get a private detective to gather the evidence, as that's about the only way shes going to prove it unless she does it herself.
Not sure about the legalities of posting the video online...
She could post a review on ripoff report as that can't be removed.
To my mind , if other people can catch her out, not just yourself, it would make your online review of her have much more impact. Don't use any words like fraud though that could be libellous and get the review removed.
Does she actually have a business name?0 -
It could be she might try to say the dog was vicious and that's why in te short term she didn't walk it locally.0

If either of these things were true (or any excuse that could be tried), the walker should have spoken to the dog owner. You can't continue to be paid for a service that you aren't providing!0 -
I totally agree, but two instances isn't enough proof.0

Not a case the cps would likely take on0
