Two pensioners where to go?

The train service along the French Riviera is good. You could easily base yourself at one of the resorts and do day trips. St Tropez is not easily accessible by train though.
Most older tourists prefer included excursions, we thought about the St Tropez train journey but didn't really fancy the fuss booking our own journeys. A few years ago we drove all over Europe with our children but as you get older you often prefer organised travel.0 -
What with the migrant crisis and terrorism, I am avoiding the Eurozone.
Cuba is getting popular, they were talking about people are rushing in before it becomes over developed, on TV. I was going to go with Virgin in November because they had a Reward air miles sale, but there were at least two hurricanes. Phew. Hurricane season is over by December. All good from January.
There is a golden opportunity to explore Japan on the cheap. The Japanese YEN is really low. I was there when it was 1:185, it's now 1:172 and falling. A DIY backpacker would buy the Japan Rail Pass, which must be bought before you go. If you go with a package, just sit back, and enjoy. The food is REALLY GOOD! Lots of seafood, so beware of cholesterol issues. I had the best Teppanyaki steak ever, and it was a buffet!0 -

Yes agree about getting older and wanting organised travel. We used to take the caravan to France each year but after abandoning it because of high costs we started going on tours abroad and wouldn't fancy going back to driving over there with van now, although we do in this country.0
