So...we’ve done the debt shuffle for 2016. Getting a bit more organised bit by bit. Trying not to kick myself too hard about the past 2 yearsAiming to pay around £800 a month to debts and we’re finally getting some savings behind us for yearly expenses/insurances etc. Hopefully all will got to plan this year and OH will get a job and our tenant will not leave.
Trying not to worry about what ‘might’ happen...

I once spoke to a financial adviser who said he recommended salary was split 3 ways – 1/3 to mortgage, 1/3 to debts or savings and 1/3 to monthly expenses. I’m paying out roughly that – around 28% to mortgage, 39% to debts and savings and 33% to monthly expenses... The real challenge is finding ways to squeeze extra out of the 33% for monthly expenses... That’s what the small things help with!

Candy – from yesterday – what app do you get points/vouchers for steps? OH does about 20,000 steps a day so I’m thinking this might be good for him!! 0 -
First day back at work today!
We were a bit optimistic in thinking we could pay off £1090 this month off the credit cards. Instead it's going to be £970. That's still a big chunk paid off, but I feel a bit down about that.

First time posting in this thread......
1) We've just cancelled the majority of our Sky package and in 1 months time that will mean that we will be saving £100 per month!
In February we can also ditch our phone and internet package with Sky and find it cheaper elsewhere.
Such a relief and feeling on quite a "high"
2) We have moved £8K to a 0% interest credit card for 12 months
3) Lunch is hoovering up the remnants of Christmas at the office with choc, nuts and fruit.0 -
Happy Birthday Princess Pea
:j
Just a quick update. The bank called to reschedule our appointment this morning to next Monday morning!:( hubby had taken a day off work too. Oh well. Can't wait to get the account moved and into a joint account. One of us (out of the hubby & I) needs to take an adult approach to our finances :rotfl::rotfl:
Good news is we have moved the DMP to SC. The hubby has been on the phone to them and they have popped the necessary paper work in the post to us. So once that has been signed and sent back to them we will be £40 per month better off. And the hubby's creditors will be much better off too. Phew.
As I don't drink alcohol and it would be too early in the day to do so if I did I am off to have a strong cup of PG tips.
Hope everyone is having a lovely day.Money scares me.
Honesty update will arrive shortly......:o0 -
