Cancelling services with Virgin

Can I cancel all my services with Virgin Media giving them the 30 days notice then within that period, ring them back and say I do not wish to cancel after all? Are there penalties? Has anyone ever done this?

Speaking from experience with companies like this (like SKY for example,) if you change your mind within the 30 days, it's unlikely you will be penalised. They will be pleased to keep you I would imagine.

    Give them a call. :)

Yes, you can ring back and cancel the cancellation without penalty.
  • Thanks. I'm wanting to call their bluff as I'm out of contract and they're offering me silly incentives at the moment. Been with them for 12 years. Awful way to treat your loyal customers.

It's because you've been 'loyal' that you are not getting the good deals-those deals are only available from retentions.
Why would they discount customers who show no sign of leaving?

You can cancel then wait for call back usually within a few days. We sadly have to do this for past 3 years as normal retentions do give crap deals now.
  • Thanks. It did the trick! Cancelled and within two days I got a phone call from them saying what did I want to stay with them? I told them and they said yes ok!! Result!!
