    I had to call HSBC savings number this morning. Lady told me that internet banking is still down. I told her that I can access it via the IPad app and she said she would pass this on as they were not aware of that internally.

    May be the HSBC staff should be reading the HSBC Twitter feed, who posted 3 hours ago:

    "Good morning, unfortunately we are experiencing further service issues with personal online banking, however our Mobile App is available."

    Hehe, good point ArchiBald. Given the time it took them to answer my call I rather think they would welcome the break between calls to have a look at Twitter! Understandably, the phones are manically busy again today in the customer service centre and their internal systems are sluggish too so calls are taking longer to handle.

    The site has always worked but there is no access to online banking, from some I've heard they can't use their cards either

    Just tried and managed to log in to Personal online banking.

    Seems to be working again (for now!)...
