Diesel wasn't cheaper anywhere near me in Summer 2015.
I don't go looking on the Internet for cheaper prices either

Those points referred to diesel being cheaper than petrol, not diesel being cheaper in 2015 than it is now.I don't go looking on the Internet for cheaper prices either

Perhaps you should. This forum is about saving money!0 -

So that it then just because at your local shell diesel wasn't cheaper than unleaded last summer it was across the rest of the country. I must have imagined it then.
As for looking on the net and life being too short. One sign up to petrolprices.com gives you weekly updates with the cheapest fuel.
Why are you here, to save money or score points?0 -

Diesel was cheaper than Unleaded last July for the first time in something like 15 years.
A few weeks later and Unleaded became cheaper again.
Last night at Tesco it was 99.9 for Unleaded and 99.7 for Diesel.
It's nice to see it dropping down to under a £1 per litre again; I can remember September 2005 when there were fuel shortages (luckily I booked the week off between petrol station jobs so missed out on all the "fun and games").It's not your credit score that counts, it's your credit history. Any replies are my own personal opinion and not a representation of my employer.0 -
The last time I paid less than a pound a litre in the UK was March 2009.
But I filled up in Florida last week, and regular petrol was $1.94 a US gallon - less than 35p a litre! (I know, its a long way to go to fill up ...)0 -

Really? "proves" it does it?
Or does it demonstrate that the demand for diesel has dropped off, particularly from the likes of China, etc?
Price for diesel has always been demand driven - there are only so many gallons of diesel you can get from a barrel of oil, so if demand is very high, prices go up.0 -

Yes it does prove it.0 -
I really cant believe that when the fuel price is made up of 75% tax that some people still think it is the fuel companies that are ripping us off
the fact that the profits of two of the big oil companies are down 40% and 48% respectively towards the end of last year would suggest they are not doing a great job at ripping us off
we are getting a better deal from the oil companies than we used to and we are getting ripped off big style by our government0 -

I went past a fairly rural Welsh petrol station today with a sign saying "99.9". Bit surprised, but no more than that. Then a second glance showed that the station had been closed and semi-derelict for many years, since the last time petrol was 99.9p/litre...0
