Dark Sunday's 6 Year Plan
Comments

Some more £s thrown at CCs this week, debt now below £43k.....still a long way to go in the battle, but fortunately all CCs on 0% short term, 4.9% 5yrs, 6.5% / 6.9% for life of balance, so interest payments not too much.
1 of the 0% CCs expires Jan. 18, so throwing every extra penny at it to clear balance by then. When that's clear, next target is the 6.9% CC.

Haven't posted for a very long time indeed. Was gonna start a new diary, but decided to resurrect this one.
Although I've not posted for a while, the debt has gradually been reducing, so the initial 6 year debt reduction plan may actually be feasible.Jan. 2025 Final LBM (3-yr plan)

Glad that's the festive season over for another year... Not my fave time of year at all.... Always eat too much, drink too much & overspend. Weather is horrible, hardly any sunshine....... batten down the hatches until Spring.
Now it's over, we've nothing planned for Jan or Feb that will eat away too much money, so these 2 months hopefully pretty "frugal".
Plan to reduce the debt by another £10k+ if possible this year. A big challenge, but hopefully achieveable.Jan. 2025 Final LBM (3-yr plan)

Dark Sunday that is an incredible reduction in 3 years. from 72 to 23 thousand. Well done.
Really impressive use of CC deals.
Happy New Year

Thanks Buffy,
CC 0% & low %APR balance transfers have made a huge difference. It was soul destroying a few years ago paying 20%+ on some CCs.
It's not been an easy journey at times as I've been determined that we also need to live & enjoy life. We still go a 2 week holiday in the sun & a couple of city breaks, but only cheap flights, cheap apartments & sometimes free hotel rooms on points.
I've updated my sig. as part of the bigger picture is also to build up my SIPP. Part of this is spiteful to ensure the SNP government don't tax me to death. Up here we get taxed helluva lot more than rest of the U.K.Jan. 2025 Final LBM (3-yr plan)

Possibly one of the gloomiest days of the year...... Lot of people start back work after 2 weeks off..... eating too much, drinking too much & overspending. Plus horrible weather.
Got a 3.9% CC offer, no transfer fee, fixed for 36 months. Shall balance transfer 4.9% CC later in the month to utilise the 36 month period, although I'm hoping to be debt free in 24 months approx..... With a bit of luck.
Very frugal 2 months for us Jan. & Feb.Jan. 2025 Final LBM (3-yr plan)
