I have £1500 on a 0% card for 12 months, I want this paid off by the end of August.

I have around £8000 outstanding on a car loan which I would also like paid off by the end of August.

I'm going to Ibiza in September and so I'll need to save around £1000 for that, I also have around £300 to pay off the balance of the holiday by July 3rd.

After all bills are paid, if I leave myself £400 for the month to include food and entertainment, I will have £1000 available to pay off my debts so the above is doable (I have around £3000 in savings already)
  • I've got one main goal for 2016

    - become debt free

then I've got another list, more of a to do list than anything
    - save and go on holiday (30% done)
    - finish house
    - sell house (move into rented to enable us to move quickly if a house we like goes on the market, in our chosen area closer to work and school)
    - start saving for big deposit for dream house

  • 1. Continue paying my debt, overpaying if/possible. SO day today, so another £200 paid off. I think I will overpay an extra £9 next week, to bring it down to an even £13,000 remaining!

    2. Save £1500 in my emergency fund; aiming for £1000 by the end of May. Currently £498.22, which is infuriating because I want to get over £500 NOW! Lol!

    3. Save £500 in rainy day fund. Currently £35. I have been prioritising the EF, but might start paying them both similar amounts each month.

    4. Use Amazon vouchers earned from surveys to pay for presents and treats for myself. Used £6.09 to buy myself an ebook. I should be aiming to get my mum a birthday present, but in my defence the ebook is about money ;)

    5. Get off benefits — preferably by earning at least £90 per week through self-employment, or by getting a job if I am able (I have long term mental health problems which affect my ability to work). No action yet.

    6. Lose 120lbs. Currently a smidge over 260lb and my initial target is 140lb. Now 256.5lb, having lost 6lb.

    7. Meditate and do yoga regularly. I feel better when I do this, but don't get around to doing it often enough! Been meditating most days, but not done any yoga.

    8. Redraft my novel to a good standard. Made rewriting notes on first 2 chapters, but progress is slower than intended.

    9. Try to get an agent, when the novel is in a decent state. No progress, since novel is not in decent state.

    10. Write the draft of another novel. No progress; focusing on rewriting novel.

    11. Do an Arvon course — my mental health and finances may prevent this, but I would really like to go on a residential writing course and Arvon has a fabulous reputation. They do grants for people of limited means, but this would not cover the total cost. No action yet.

    12. Submit at least 25 short stories to literary journals or competitions. These can be stories I've already written, as well as new ones. No progress.
    Rainy day fund — 210/1000 Emergency fund — 1019/1500
