    Debt-free and Proud!

Hi All! My plan as follows; looking to be debt-free by April!

    1) Pay off student loan (not early, there's around £550 left on it which should take 2-3 months)
    2) Pay off Credit Card - £1100 on there which I plan to pay off with January's pay as I get a bonus (and then not spend on the card again)
    3) Increase my emergency fund to £1000, it's currently at £750
    4) Use YNAB (You Need A Budget) every single time I spend!
    5) £200 per month into each Help To Buy ISA (Mine and Hubby's)
    6) £100 per month into external savings account for house deposit.
    7) Get to my 100lb Weight Loss Goal (not money saving but still) 75lb down so far!

Feeling really positive!! Good luck all!
    Love Piggy-banking and YNAB!

Great thread, very inspiring! Thought I'd write my list:

    1. Stay debt-free
    2. Build a £1000 emergency fund
    3. Save every month for xmas and holidays
    4. Build a £1000 buffer in my current account
    5. Drink less alcohol/spend less time in the pub!
    6. Meditate once a day
    7. Eat a healthy Mediterranean diet

It will be brilliant to be able to save some money this year now the debts are gone. I'm doing dry january this month so the excessive spending on alcohol has stopped temporarily. Hopefully if I can stop going out to the pub quite so often this year the other lifestyle goals will be much easier to achieve!

    Good luck everyone :)

Thanks for the invite. I'm eager to get started on something, and this thread actually gives me somewhere to register my goals. Thanks!

So... in 2016, I want to:

    1) Pay off my Yorkshire Bank Loan (£11206 remaining)
    2) Finish my MBA
    3) Do myself proud in the Great North Run
    4) Sell 52 items on Ebay

Part of the Furniture I won, I won, I won!
I currently have two loans, two credit cards and an overdraft totaling around 16k. My aim this year is to pay off as much of the credit cards and overdraft as I can, which works out at around £3300.

On top of that, I'm going to take control of my spends and properly budget . Something I've never done.

Luckily my OH is very sensible with money, he only has student loan debt. Has never dabbled in loans, credit cards etc. He has a credit card at the moment, but only for the purpose of creating a credit score for himself. He has been a huge help in making me realise that I need to get my finances in shape.

Other than debt, I want to take up yoga/pilates and get out on my bike more.

    1. Work with husband on S.O.A. and budget (in progress)
    2. Save money to apply for citizenship (about £1200, with application fee and various expenses  )
    3. Move into a disabled equipped council flat (This one is completely down to luck! The waiting list is brutal...)(Or a disabled equipped private flat, but those are even less likely - we've been looking for 2 years! :()
    4. Lose 12 kg, 1 kg per month

  • Hope its ok to join :)

This year I'm determined to make a dent in this debt as its just getting more out of control so here we go....

    * pay off next account which is at £400
    * pay off as much as possible from Santander card which is currently at £2700
    * pay back £600 I owe to my mum
    * give myself at least halfan hour 'me time' everyday to help with my anxiety and depression
    * have lots of free/tesco voucher days out with our girls
    * spend quality time with my boyfriend and our girls even just playing games at home

I'm happy with this and I think that's enough for me to focus on!

    Good luck everyone! :j

Another late arrival - I hope that's OK.

I haven't crystallised all my plans yet but I do want to

    1. Get back into jogging
    2. Lose 6kg
3.organise and execute or house sale without going mad.
    4. Get my daughter well settled into her new school

There's a lot of stuff that goes with the house sale and move so I'll try and get back to these with some more detail

Is the plan that we post when regularly to report back on our progress?
    Trying to keep in budget.
