iphone 6 - ios 9.2

Have synced it with iCloud so I can open spreadsheets on both iPad and iPhone without having to update both. However, now when I try to open a saved spreadsheet on my iPhone it is telling me I need to update to the latest version of "numbers" which I already have, so I cannot upgrade. Any idea what the problem could be and how to solve?

What version of iOS do you have?
If you are not on iOS 9 then you don't have the latest version of Numbers - it only runs on iOS 9 and above.
So if you are on iOS8 then the app store will show you are on the latest version of Numbers because you can't install the newer version.poppy100 -
Poppy is right.
Check the version number on both versions of numbers, if that makes sense. When I upgraded my iMac OS, to Maverics I think, it came with a new version of numbers.
When I tried to open spreadsheets on my Macbook, which I had not at that point upgraded, I had the same problem. My Macbook was telling me I had the latest version of numbers but in reality it was only the latest version for the older OS.One by one the penguins are slowly stealing my sanity.0 -
Thanks both. Yeah, I compared the version on my iPad with my iPhone and discovered what you both said. All sorted now, upgraded to 9.2 which has delivered the following issue... Battery drain has gone up! Constantly seeing 'background activity' even though all background app refresh is off and it was absolutely fine before the upgrade. Any thoughts how to rectify this?0

I think this will settle down.
One of the things Apple tend to do with upgrades is get you up and running as quickly as possible but in fact parts of the upgrade process is still happening in the background. One by one the penguins are slowly stealing my sanity.0 -

Let's hope so because I used to get a good 8 hours usage from 100%, and I'm not getting that now, probably about 5 today. However, I can't even track that because I did a home and sleep button reset so the battery usage tool just shows a hyphen (another bug bear!).
Updated all the apps and settings are as they were 24 hours ago, before the update.0 -
Still no settling down of the battery drain, which is concerning. Cannot work out why there is a lot of background activity being shown on the battery usage report, for example "music 1.4 hours background" - how? Surely if I play a song or am scrolling through the music app, it is usage and if I'm not it isn't. Where is the background usage coming from?
All background app refresh is off and I never had any of these problems with ios 8.4 (i went straight from this to 9.2).
Any help and advice appreciated.0 -
Do you subscribe to Apple Music's online streaming features? If not, turn them off. It should reduce the background usagepoppy100

Anyone know how to stop background usage? All background app refresh has always been turned off yet the battery use age still shows it. Since ios9 my battery is rubbish. Prior to the update, it'd be fully charged and then be on 99/100% the next morn. Last night it was on 70, 6 hours later on standby and it's on 64. Then it's gone from that to 48 in an hour with minimal usage. I used to get a good 8 hours usage from full, now about 6. Absolute joke.
Any fixes, other then 'turn everything off'? I'd expect to be able to have the phone settings set in the same way as before the update and not lose 25% battery life.0 -
