Unexpected Refund

If a company treated me badly I wouldn't waste a moment of my time or money chasing them.when they do eventually contact you, I'd make them sweat and wait.
The EBay Outlet store from whom the op purchased it from haven't treated her badly, to be honest I don't actually think imo she has been treated badly at all.
After the fridge was delivered she should of contacted the EBay store regarding the missing part, the waters have got muddied with her contacting Argos themselves...
Op contact the EBay store you will most probably find its all cleared up and sorted out easily.0 -
It's immoral to get a company who've treated you abysmally , to wait until they contact you? I think not. Kindly don't try to twist my words , or that of the others just for your attempted point scoring.i wasn't talking about keeping the money as you well know.
There's nothing that gets the attention quicker of a company that is chaotic and delivers bad customer service, like a sum of money that isn't where it should be.
Far more effective than wasted time and phone calls.
Not twisting your words or point scoring at all. Just offering practical advice. If you're going to advise the OP to keep the money until the company contact him, then why not at least do it properly, such as advising that the company have 6 years to come after him for the money.
Apparent bad service does not mean the OP can just keep the money. Thats for the company to decide once investigated as to whether any monetary compensation is due. So whats the "id make them wait and sweat" all about?
Just like Poppie, im struggling to see where this bad service is. A mix up regarding delivery in which there is blame for both the OP and the company. Then the mix up regarding not contacting the Ebay outlet in regards to the handle - However the company supplied details of the manufacturer who are sending this item out.0 -
powerful_Rogue wrote: »Absolutely disgusting behaviour. Although from seeing Zandoni and hollydays post previously I wouldn't expect anything less from you two. Also says a lot that the OP is happy to "Thank" those that support such immoral behaviour.
OP - You have your item and the replacement part is being sorted. Email/Phone the company and advise them that you have for some reason been refunded the full amount.
Its upto the company to decide if they want to want to issue a partial refund when they consider your complaint. If your not happy, then invoke your rights to return for a refund under the 14 day cooling off period.
Sadly it's often large companies which lack morals.0 -
Sadly it's often large companies which lack morals.
Can you prove this?
I assume you're just going by the few threads you see on here which in fact are from just a tiny fraction of most large companies complaints and much less than 1% of their overall transactions.
If you look at large companies actual amount of transactions per year vs threads about morals on here for any one particular company that statistic is true which basically means you are completely wrong unless you can PROVE otherwise.0 -

That’s an easy one MSK don’t ever assume though as it’s nothing to do with posts on here, here is just a few.
Shops selling items with misleading reduced price labels on when they haven’t ever sold them at the full price, if they have it would have been at one of their stores hidden on the bottom shelf. Try buying a full price sofa in some of the big furniture stores.
Putting toys and sweets on display at tills so children nag their parents.
Laying out supermarkets so you have to visit every aisle when shopping for essentials.
Large displays of BOGOF offers with a scattering of not included items making it easy to pick up something that’s not included in the deal.
Large displays with signs like 60% off on, but when you get closer you see the magic words “up to”. Then you look at the rail and there will be only one or two items with this reduction.
During the sales having rails of cheap tat that’s never been sold by them before being sold at so called cheap prices.
Companies advertising massive deals on products when they only have tiny stocks.
You work in a supermarket yourself so you know all this stuff goes on.0 -

Shops still have to abide by the law in regards to marketing.Putting toys and sweets on display at tills so children nag their parents.
Havent seen a supermarket that has done this in a long long time,Laying out supermarkets so you have to visit every aisle when shopping for essentials.
My biggest frustration. Why couldnt they just have all the shopping I needed in one isle. If only the toilet rolls were next to the milk etc. Bloomin stupid idea keeping all similar items together in the same isle.Large displays of BOGOF offers with a scattering of not included items making it easy to pick up something that’s not included in the deal.
Consumer error then - read the sign.Large displays with signs like 60% off on, but when you get closer you see the magic words “up to”. Then you look at the rail and there will be only one or two items with this reduction.
Again not misleading if it says upto and abides by the law.During the sales having rails of cheap tat that’s never been sold by them before being sold at so called cheap prices.
Must be a market for it. If it didnt sell then they wouldnt do it.Companies advertising massive deals on products when they only have tiny stocks.
And why not? Cant have infinite stock of one item.
Still cant see how any of the above justifies thieving.0 -

Firstly, It's not your place to tell me what advice I should give anyone on here ( and particularly not so when you try to twist my words as I've already said. Proven very easily by the fact you've told me I should have advised the op about 6 years , blah blah. If 6 years was so relevant , in theory, then, you'd have already advised the op.)0 -
So op, lets just recap.
Customer service was good ?
In June you ordered a washer.
Oh no-sorry-a fridge just before Christmas ( the significance of The timing of it getting there at this time of year is lost on the hard of reading).0 -

This is how big store get away with all these dodgy practices, people just accept it. There's no thieving involved if the store that gave the OP the money asked for it back then that should happen.0
