I'd suggest movingthe tray closer to the door, as Duchy suggests. You could also consier removing the tray when youare at home and can keep an eye on things, and only leaving it down when you are out or at night, which might encourage the cat to start going out of doors.
Does he use the tray evey time he wees. or only sometimes, do you know? All posts are my personal opinion, not formal advice Always get proper, professional advice (particularly about anything legal!)0 -
Have just got a cat flap so the cat now goes outside and always poos outside now but seems to still wee inside in his litter tray.
Wondered if anyone else had experienced this and if there is a reason this would happen and how can I convince them to wee outside too!?
It could be simply that all cats are different in their toileting habits.
My cat, for example will be outside then come in specifically to use her litter tray (for both urinating and pooing) then go back outside again.
I actually prefer her doing this as it means she is not weeing or pooing in neighbours gardens/flower beds etc. Also I can check that her stools are normal and that she is weeing normally and hasn't got a lower urinary tract infection/blood in urine etc.
I wouldn't worry about your cat's litter tray habits.
