Stash Busting 2016 - I WILL use my mountains of craftstash before buying more!
Comments
-
I have made more dotted paper for my Filofax counting as two - as made enough sheets to be the equivalent of two bought pads.
I have also repurposed a set of a - a4 folder dividers into a record card box. It took ages and used two incomplete sets for work - used washi tape and a pen to add the missing letters. Haha
Quite proud of my repurposing.
I've added another three to my total.
Managed 144 out of 500 so far.

This may be the wrong thread to mention this but I've been turning my stash into cash. I've been buying all sorts of craft stuff and over the years, a stash built up. When I decided to start using the stuff I already had, I found myself buying yet more stuff to complement it and turn it into something useful.
In the end, I decided to start listing on eBay and I've sold quite a bit. :j
I've managed to sell various papers I've had since 2003 and never used, then bought a lot of scrapbooking and cardmaking stuff in 2005 and again in 2009, as well as embroidery and crochet thread. All the thread and a lot of the paper has been turned into cash and I've just accepted an offer of £15 for a sticker making machine I bought in 2005, which still works as well as it did back then, as the mechanism is very simple. :TBig corporations take advantage of the unwary, it's time we learned how to deal with them:dance::dance::dance:Any comments are based on personal experience and interest in consumer matters, they do not constitute advice.0 -

Ok so still not completed my may list. Haha
For June
1. Set up printer or at least try. Carried over from April.
2. Complete steam punk junk journal. Carried over from May.
3. One sewing project. I added a rolled hem to a petticoat. I ordered two for my sister in laws wedding and only one arrived. I have added the rolled hem now to avoid last minute rushes when I next want to wear them. It wasn't big but I'm pleased I got it done.
4. Actually get the bagged up leather etc over to my mothers. This will count as three when completed. Haha
5. make some glimmer mist stuff and try it out.
So I am up to 138 / 500 so far. Covered some books and used up some note pads.
I'm achieving some stuff. Slowly and small bits. But I'm plodding on.
I have plans to go to ikea tomorrow. I have birthday vouchers to spend and some birthday cash left too. I had planned a whole afternoon to go to other shops in the area too but my mother in law has a doctors appointment so that's cancelled.
That will be the last of the craft shopping for a while. And hopefully they will have the rest of the Kallax shelf unit I want to buy.
My mum is on holiday so i can't drop off the leather this week. So that will not happen until next month. I am hoping to get some paper stuff used up today.
I have decorated a set of wooden drawers and used a set of handles bought on wish with my birthday money.
I have managed 146 / 500 so far.

Enjoy spending your birthday money, nimbo. I still have that Hobbycraft voucher I was given! Just haven't seen that "must have " item and I don't want to spend it on basic stuff.

Also made a couple of cards - as usual one I needed and one since I had stuff out.cards by Bobbie Doctor, on Flickr

Here's my update:
1) [STRIKE]Finish lilac baby cardy[/STRIKE]
2) [STRIKE]Finish red baby cardy [/STRIKE]
3) [STRIKE]Pastels baby quilt [/STRIKE]
4) [STRIKE]Orientals baby quilt [/STRIKE]
5) Finish 'Paradise Island' cross stitch and finish up into a cushion cover for Sir - XS about 65% done, but project on hold whilst I complete 3 others....
6) [STRIKE]Souvenir pillow for J&G's wedding [/STRIKE]
7) Start making new scatter cushion cover(s) for our cushions which are very yonderly!!! Use one of the Craftsy courses for much of the technique.
8) A self-designed cross stitch or a freestyle/raised piece for this year's Fayre
9) Another baby knit to use up odds and ends of yarn (had to buy one ball of white DK), but this should clear me out of DK yarn stocks. Back and one sleeve knit. Photo next time
10) Some pastel pencil tree frog sketches/studies also for the Fayre (and/or other local events)
I've also got most of the way through the embroidery on another cushion cover in hardanger.
I've done more than this since the photo.
So, with these projects, I've used up most of my yarn supplies - the current one is seeing off most of the odds and ends, most of my quilt batting, some fabric pieces and one skein of #5 pearl cotton. I've gone from owning 1632 items of embroidery thread down to owning 1631!! :rotfl:Elizabeth
Long-term No Buys: print books, make-up, art/craft items
Lost 8 of the 20lbs I need to shed:D0 -
Ooooo we're loving the progress. People have been really busy. And not just with little bits. There are some serious masterpieces being worked on.
Some of the birthday money got Spent on general suff in IKEA. But I did buy a cork board - some storage including the drawers for my Kallax some washi tape and some pretty postcards. I have also bought some nice bottles (they had no price tags if I'd known they were only £1 I would have got more).
So in the next few days I need to build the Kallax units x2 and bottle up the sloe gin. I have also built one box from IKEA today so my total is 147 / 500. I'm getting there. SLOWLY.
They're not exactly a birthday treat but I got me some sexy new pillows. I used birthday money but it's soooo hot I can't be faffed to change the sheets. Haha I got them out the packets and have fluffed them up. I'll get to them tomorrow.

Elizabeth, I especially like your hardanger work. And your wedding pillow. And your quilts and cardi!
Hope you get and build your unit ok, nimbo.Sewing 88/COLOR]Woollies 19Card s 91Reading 37/400 -
In the last few days I have sewn up a work lanyard. Not a big job but done.
I managed to build the two sets of Kallax drawers today. I am currently looking at the cardboard rubbish and think I should peg out some washing. Haha
I have bottles soaking in the sink for some gin. My partner is about to build the vegetable crate we bought at IKEA.
I need to sort out some of my crafty bits into the Kallax drawers. I'm feeling quite accomplished. Haha
150 / 500. So far.
