I have been trying to transfer money from online account at Halifax all day to daughter's help to buy isa and it says there is a problem. I wonder if anyone else has had this? No email, just tweet or ring tomorrow, very frustrating!

I had a problem with my Halifax HTB ISA when I set it up in December. I couldn't transfer in £1200 to start off the account during the first month. I rang up and it turns out you can move in £1000 by transfer, and then you have to set up a direct debit for the monthly contributions of £200.
Hope this helps.0 -
thank you for replying.
I managed to transfer the £1k to open and then the £200 for the 1st payment but it wont let me do an internal transfer and it seems there is a problem with setting it up over the phone too. I wonder if it is because I am trying to do it from an online saver account and it needs to be a current account?Save £12k in 2012 no.49 £10,250/£12,000

Doesn't the monthly funding have to be by standing order?...a feature not supported by a savings account.Desperate_Housewife wrote: »I wonder if it is because I am trying to do it from an online saver account and it needs to be a current account?0 -
I am confused though Yorkshire boy as I have already done an internal transfer from this account for the 1st payment.
I'll ring them up tomorrow to sort it out, bit of a mystery ...Save £12k in 2012 no.49 £10,250/£12,000

I am trying to transfer my £200 for January, But it wont let me and says error. It does say funding every calendar month and so I think it wont let you do it early. I opened mine on the 4th of December with the £1000 ( I tried £1200 and had the same problem and had to do the £1000 and then the £200) I am assuming the next payment can not be until either the 4th or 5th. I bank with the Halifax and transfer the money from my savings account.0

It does clearly say in the terms and conditions that payments have to be by standing order. The initial deposit being an exception. So I assume if you are trying to transfer it manually then this is this is most likely the problem?
My payment for this month sent via standing order has already gone into my Halifax account with no issue. Try sending the payment through standing order and see if you have better luck.Homeowner:j0 -
I wonder if the issue is trying to fund it from someone else in the family, thus an account with a different name.
So try transferring into to one of their other accounts then they do the transfer to the ISA
In December I did 2 simple manual transfers from Rewards account to ISA. Yesterday I went in the ISA itself and selected to top up, which was also a transfer from the Rewards.
So my assumption is either set up a regular standing order much like to anywhere, or do a manual transfer each month.0 -
Finally just set up a SO!0
