Lyn,fantastic news.It does seem to be the shortest pregnancy ever, how time flies. Will you be a Grandma or a Nanna?

We have booked to go to Canada to visit my son and his girlfriend. He wants us to go horse riding and cycling etc, etc.Yikes! slimming in earnest now instead of just talking about it!

We have also been invited to two wedding receptions in the summer so hopefully I will be able to go and not feel self concious.I said I was ill in the past to miss a wedding because I was so uncomfortable being so overweight.

Welcome to Mrss, you can't go wrong here, always something interesting to read.

Congratulations Lyn! What a lovely name too.
Vulpix - there's a thread on here with the 5:2 diet. Don't know if it would suit you but its the only one that ever worked for me and my lifestyle so worth a look as its really simple & straightforward.
Off to the gym with my friend this morning ( weight bearing for bone density :( ) then hopefully when I get back I'll still have some energy for chores lol!
Have a good day all x

    Hello Mrss
Well I've pretty much missed all of February with having the flu, I will never again mistake a bad cold for the flu! On the plus side I haven't spent much money compared with how much usually gets spent and we haven't starved so I'm taking a serious look at how much money gets wasted here. Between MM&M and the grocery challenge I think I can save loads and it's all thanks to everyone who posts....and the flu!

Made me smile about Grandma or Nanna-I'm known as nutty Nanny and all the other grandparents are Grandma or Grandpa.Even late DH was known as Grumpy-he was just bah humbug and a big softy!!

Making do-boiling a chicken carcass, just fancy tom-yum soup for lunch.

  • Good morning all.
Hi to MrsSnowy and welcome - I'm an 'about to retire' hopefully all will be sorted by April.
Mrs-moneypenny - i had images of someone in fatigues running through the woods with hand grenades - really made me chuckle:rotfl:
Lynplatinum - Congratulations and what a lovely name, Allora.
I had to take my mum to get some new curtains yesterday and tried not to spend too much. I did buy some new black boots for under jeans to replace my others, which were letting in water. They were in the sale but when i got to the till they knocked another 20% off, so more moneysaving than minimising.
However, I did minimise some carrots left over from Sunday lunch and made some spicy lentil and carrot soup. There was also some leftover broccoli and that has become broccoli and leftover cheese soup.
Lovely day here but cold but I am in the greenhouse today sowing seeds and then hoping to minimise some books and sell them. Can anyone recommend any online book buyers?

Oooh - Nonna is such a lovely name for Grandmother. I'm just Nan and my grandmother insisted on being called Nana!
