Welcome mrssnowy,
Hope all are well.
Got to nip shops then prep food.
Been making patchwork today so minimising my stash, I'm actually binding the edges so I'm getting near the end of it now.
Edit as predictive text or autocorrect decided I was "bombing does" instead of binding edges!! Really in what parallel universe would that even be a thing you did.
I'm not an animal hating anacharist just incase anyone had got a strange image of me running through woods attacking bambi with grenades.SPC~12 ot 124

Hi mrssnowy:wave:
I've been minimisingmore books selling online....still loads to go!
Dinner this evening is at my friends house, and I will be making do with a tray of mixed roasted veg my sister gave me the other day, as my contribution to the meal!
I have discovered a hole in the heel of a pair of socks, so, they need to be mended
I've been out walking today in the beautiful sunshine, and dried my washing on the clothes line, so it's been a super day so far.
I hope everyone is doing well! :jLiving a frugal retirement without treading on the planet :T

Evening all
Have not been on here for a few days because my grandaughter, Allora, was born on the 19th Feb at 16.41:j
She was at least a week early so I have been over in Northampton - cleaning house /doing washing/ walking and feeding dogs/washing up etc for them as son has been busy getting a new business off the ground and DIL has been to big and exhausted to do much!
Hester - once upon a time I got so fed up with my boys wearing odd socks that I bought them pairs for everyday of the week with each day as part of the sock itself. So each sock had Monday on for example. So about one week after this they appeared with different days on e.g. Monday and Wednesday - when I tried to tell them off they stated that this was String theory in action - where two time streams run side by side occupying the same physical space!! :rotfl: I had to laugh! Serve me right for bringing up 2 lads fascinated by science and able to read and understand Hawkins at the ages of 15 and 12!!!(Via Stark Trek)
MrsCD - hope cold goes away soon
Welcome Mrs Snowy - its amazing what you learn on here and the great thing is that even if you have the daftest question someone here always knows the answer! :A
Who ever it was who is getting the PPI refund - v well done!!
Aiming for an early bed as my friend is coming over to lunch tomorrow and than am off to Northampton again to dog wrangle + see Allora and then back here to teach at 6!!!
Phew!! Busy day in prospect!
Nite allAim for Sept 17: 20/30 days to be NSDs  NSDs July 23/31 (aim 22) :j

Good evening all you fellow MMMer's and welcome to our new member Mrssnowey so glad you've found us and you want to join the gang. Quite a few of us are recently retired and now have reduced incomes or wish to spend our cash in different ways. I too have been frugal for a good number of years but I always on the look out for tips and hints. What I don't spend in one area increases my ability to have spare cash for other areas. I like to get bargain caravan park holidays, I've got 4 booked so far for this year covering 23 nights away and hoping to get another 1 booked for 4 nights. I love cooking on a shoe string and batch cooking so I've got quick ready meals from the freezer for midweek.
Still knitting the baby bunting but I can see the end in sight, hopefully by the end of the week. xWhy pay full price when you may get it YS0 -
Congratulations Lyn on the birth of your Grandchild Allora, that a nice name hope all is well with them. xWhy pay full price when you may get it YS0

Congratulations Lyn on your new grandaughter. Will you be changing your mind about moving to Cornwall. It's wonderful to have grandchildren but not so wonderful if you hardly ever see them.0

Congratulations on your new granddaughter Lyn.
My youngest cleared out her room ready for the move on Friday and I have bags of coat hangers, books and clothes to take to the charity shop. Someone is coming this afternoon to quote for a removal and I could be moved by this Friday
I am hoping to be told today that everything has been done legally and I can then contact utilities etc. Seemingly the person I am buying from is getting irate and impatient at the delay (maybe he should not have kept me hanging about for weeks then )"This site is addictive!"
Wooligan 2 squares for smoky - 3 squares for HTA
Preemie hats - 2.0 -
Congratulations Lynn, wonderful news and a lovley name.
Still working on hand sewing the binding on the quilt today, and Dh has asked me to sew a button on some trousers so I'll get that done while I still have the button. Sweden up the hat I made last night but that just needs a button as well.
Still have dads jeans to replace zip in but think that will be a job for tomorrow as I'm out with mil this afternoon getting her leg brace fitted.
Tea will be some thing from the cupboards using up the left over hm veg soup from Sunday so possibly a veggie pie of some sort with that as a base for extra veggies and quorn chunks.SPC~12 ot 124
