Your holiday breaks sound absolutely lovely Howmuch - Caravaning gives you the best of both worlds. Eat what & when you want and go out or stay in if the weather is pants!Small victories - sometimes they are all you can hope for but sometimes they are all you need - be kinder than necessary, for everyone you meet is fighting some kind of battle0

Mrs CD, have made your fruit cake today and it is absolutely gorgeous.
I managed to buy a tin of crushed pineapple, so didn't have to put it in the processor. I love a nice fruit cake, and this definitely is. Thank you so much for the recipe

I've printed off the booking confirmations for the holidays I've book via Bre@kfree and locals. Booked a Mon-Fri in the middle of July on the east coast Yorkshire for a grand total of £108.68 so just over £27 a night. Also booked our usual 11nights in North Norfolk in early October for a grand total of £145.59 for just over £13 a night.
HOWMUCH - Your holiday plans sound fantastic, I love the East Yorkshire coast and used to have a touring caravan permanently on site near Robin Hood's Bay. Happy days.
Edited to ask: Does anybody know if I were to make up dumplings will they be okay in the freezer in their raw state? The 2oz of suet makes 8 dumplings but sometimes there's only the two of us.0 -
We had another makedo dinner: dds had microwaved pasta with grated cheese, ham slice, raw carrots; dh had yesterday's sauce with cooked rice and a salad; I had a fryup with poatoes, half an onion, some paprika, 2 mushrooms and 2 eggs. Kerfuffle as you can buy frozen dumplings I am sure you can freeze them.
Went to Ald! today they still had some of their five bird roasts left with £1 off so we decided to buy one should do three meals as we had a bit too much for two meals. As I still have small Christmas puddings and some mince pies in the freezer we could have Christmas dinner again but no sprouts.
Got lots of other veg though as I bought the supersix plus about as many others too.0 -

Morning.
Haven't been around all that much as I have been busy with work and village panto.
I had been lazy and started taking the bus from the station to the office before Christmas, but have walked every time this year, so 8days which at £3 saved per round trip soon adds up.
I have been good with screen free time, I have used it to get on with costumes and a bit of knitting. I have noticed that I have several projects on the go at any one time, but often don't finish them completely or have rushed to finish them, so a I need to find a balance between multiple projects for different situations...I crochet on the train but have knitting patterns and sewing at home (as it's less dangerous for fellow commuters to sit next to me) and getting stuff done and finished.
Normally at this time of year I live off takeaways and sweets as I don't seem to stop , but I had planned a bit in advance and the freezer has lots of "homemade ready meals" which I can pop in the microwave and saves me spending and time because I am not having to drive to the nearest town to get supper. So that seems a good bit of minimising and making do.
I realised that I hadn't sown anything other than onions for the veg patch so far this year, so plan after the panto is to get minimising my seed collection ready for making do later in the year, if you can call freshly picked veg from the garden making do!
Welcome to everyone new, everyone seems to be MMM in a very mindful way, have a fab MMM weekend.
S x£400,000 starting Jan 2020 current end date Aug 2041 I would love the end date to be 2027 but will aim first for 2037.
1% target £4000 so far £20 paid0 -
I'm continuing my mission to minimise the food stocks around the house - by the end of this week we should be down to some odd bits of frozen veg and not much else. Happy that OH is taking lunch from home as well - it's only about £3 per week less than he would spend, but as he's planning to start an OU course in September we need to be ready to cut our spending if he has to reduce hours at work.February Grocery Challenge - £120.63/1500

Morning all.
I finished knitting my socks last night and need to press them and then sew up, so that's a job for tonight in front of the TV. I can then start on VW cushions for DD2. I cleared out a filing cabinet drawer of old handouts, lesson plans etc and nearly filled the recycling box. You don't realise how heavy paper is until you try to move the bin.
I got some wood glue from Wilkos and used it to mend my under bed drawer yesterday. It's currently sitting in my bedroom and I will see if it worked later.
I made chicken stock from a leftover bird and I need to portion it and put it in the freezer. Then i'm making fish pie from bits and pieces of fish in the freezer. I'm hoping to make two; one for tonight and one for next week to take with us on our little center parcs break.Books - the original virtual reality.

Morning all.
Did a CS run this morning, so the folded books and some CDs went. I was given 4 more books to fold so will get them made up and take back next week.
Also need to sort the recycling out threes a load of mags and papers I can bag up.
Hoping to get a bit more knitting done over the weaken to minimise the wool stash a bit more.
Have a great week all and stay warm.SPC~12 ot 124
