  • We have a hotpoint washing schamine which does oodles, half loads, delicates, 9 min refresh. We use the hour one most often as we dont grt that dirty. Has done duvets too, though cannot remember whether double or single
Been in London on hols this weeks: used rail card and did 2for1 on almost all entries, NUS for food maximising the discount days. M&S gf sarnies for lunch and stocked up at brekkie as it was included. Stayed in uni halls as it is only £50pp per night right on the sth bank.
Hopefully minimised self with all the walking.

All our ornaments are behind glass, saves the dusting. This week we are going to be mainly sewing dresses and things from stash and eating up food in the house.

Glad to hear all are still spiffing :)
    Xx

Hello, hope everyone has had a good weekend. I've had a really busy weekend, me and OH spent most of it cleaning/clearing out the old flat. Got rid of 5 black bin liners of stuff plus have another 4 bags to go to the CS.

Did my mending the other day. I bought a new iron last week so have been busily minimised my ironing - absolutely love my new iron, never thought I would utter that sentence :rotfl:

Back to work tomorrow, packed lunch and snacks all ready to go so it should be a NSD. We had roast chicken last night, chicken salad tonight and planning to have egg fried rice tomorrow to use up the last of the chicken.

    Hiya All

Wow!!! It feels soooooo good to type and think that! It was wonderful to get back to my little home!!
I bought all my plants back with me (bar two that are too big - will have to do man with van for them :-(
My son, whom I was giving a lift to said he wasnt sure he should get into the car as it looked and smelt like a mobile hydroponics bay and he didnt want to be associated with someone who looked like a mobile drug dealer!!! (this was also a reference to my use of herbs as medicines!) :rotfl:

Well, am back into frugal mode: spent £11.40 at L!dil and recon I have enough food for one and a half weeks or two - with a 'top-up' shop of fresh salad stuff and butter next week.
Make do: Did not have much butter left so searched recipe books and found a low fat honey and walnut cake (which was also low sugar) - better for me too :)
Minimise: Hopefully me!! Went on a long walk including a blissful hour paddling along the shore line in soft golden sand!:) and feeling incredibly lucky and privileged - also it cost nothing!
Mend: Started to trim the herbs that are in pots so that they will start to look better and produce more leaves - I have thyme; mint; lemon balm; chives and two lavenders. Plus some forget-me knots that my son gave me - so am looking after them for sentimental reasons.
Am running my weeks from Friday to Friday thus for me August began on Friday 29th - thus far 2/7 days have been NSDs! :j

misstara - that sounds v yum!!! Excellent way to stretch chicken.
    Frugal on folks!
    Nite all
Aim for Sept 17: 20/30 days to be NSDs  NSDs July 23/31 (aim 22) :j
NSDs 2015:185/330 (allowing for hols etc)

You will soon be known as the Hannah Hauxwell of Cornwall Lyn :) You must be so pleased to be finally settled in your own place at last,What a lovely time of the year for you. When we downsized in 1995 we moved on Halloween !!! and it was blooming freezing.

Minimised some HM carrot and coriander soup for lunch, nothing in the way of mending and I shall be making do with a couple of sausages and two scoops of frozen mash from the freezer along with some steamed cauliflower and cabbage ,I am going away on holiday at the end of next week so I am working my way through my fresh veg and using up stuff from the freezer as well.
DGS Jack helped me by minimising the melon from the fridge :)
Apart from the frozen fruit I am down to 3 apples,4 oranges and half a box of grapes that are fresh. So they will get used this week, and will juggle bits around to suit if I can.Hoping not to go anywhere near the food shops

    Cheers JackieO x

    Afternoon all

Making do with Macaroni Cheese tonight - one of DH's favourites
Mended (sort of) DH put some leather strips on the zips of his motor cycle jacket so he can do them up wearing gloves. The knots made the ends stick out at angles so I've used some twine to bind them together for him - all 6 of them!
Minimised some Dosh to the dentist for our checkups!

Runner beans still producing well so continuing to blanch and freeze most days - will last through to next year! Not much else to report today
Small victories - sometimes they are all you can hope for but sometimes they are all you need - be kinder than necessary, for everyone you meet is fighting some kind of battle

Minimised some more old magazines into the recycling and a box of junk into the recyclable skip at DHs work. Three dyson dc01s 1 working and and 2 that were kept at spares are being given to a local indie tradesman who Services and repairs dyson He will be able to use them as he sees fit I just didn't want them in the landfill.

Congratulations HowMuch on becoming a nanny again. hope dd is sorted out soon. It is such a lovely thing (never thought I would say that about a baby.)

Jackie - not sure who Hannah Hauxwell is??? Got a feeling I've heard the name on here before?? Can you enlighten me??

Well, after the beautiful day yesterday it has rained all day today!!! So I did alot of minimising of paperwork. Have had to move a lot of stuff with me as I didnt have time to sort all 10 years worth of it. I am very much NOT putting it all in cupboards out of sight - I want to get it all sorted and ready to shred and throw out year on year. (I have to keep some of my stuff about the children I taught for 7 years and, obviously the tax stuff).

Make do - well, yes it was, but it didn't feel like it! :D I made a tomato sauce to do with the L!dil meatballs I bought (they were on offer for £1 somat - know I could have made more with a pound of mince but that would have taken me over my £10 limit for the week. The pasta and meatballs in tomato sauce made 3 portions - two of which have been frozen for another day. Very comforting on a rainy day :j

Mend - does that include my sanity by getting rid of more stuff!! The poor shredder is going overtime (I wore one out at my last place!!) :rotfl:

So tomorrow will be walkies if possible and more shredding! Also gonna order a washing machine and look at costs of new garage doors!! (think my current one is gonna stay shut on me one day!)
Another NSD today :) Frugaling on
