SP , I think me, you n Floss all live in that vicinity, n i'm also against fracking .Did you see where the poor radio reporter died on the M6 ,on the way to a fracking meeting last week ?"You can't stop the waves, but you can learn to surf"

That meeting was the inquiry at Blackpool football club, about 10mins walk away from Chez Floss!
It is a bugbear in Blackpool that property here will suffer financially & possibly structurally but the decisions about if it goes ahead are made by those who won't be living on top of the actual works. And now, every house sale has an extra search for tracking routes, so an extra cost and potential for the property to be unsaleable :mad:2021 Decluttering Awards: ⭐⭐🥇🥇🥇🥇🥇🥇 2022 Decluttering Awards: 🥇

Mended the pocket on DH's shirt,as the stitches had pulled away with him putting his pen in, and it's too heavy!
Made do with pizza from the freezer and almost used up all the veg, other than what we need for Sunday dinner.
Minimized lots of rubbish in the garden with help from a gardener, not really mse, but some of the work was too heavy for us to do ourselves.2025 Fashion on the ration

Yes, it is lovely, however the residents are so very up themselves! Would love to live there but don't think we have the social standing to be allowed in2021 Decluttering Awards: ⭐⭐🥇🥇🥇🥇🥇🥇 2022 Decluttering Awards: 🥇

Thanks JackieO, Quadrilla have blinded people with their "jobs for locals, more money to be spent locally" spiel and people locally don't want it.
I tend to follow the earthquake watch site and wondered why there were so many earthquakes in the middle of the US away from fault lines. They are centred round Oklahoma which is the centre of the fracking in the US

Fantastic earthquake map dND!
Making do and minimising this weekend as haven't had much time for mending.
Making do- trying not to buy another loaf of bread as the freezer is full. Instead using up random grains in my store cupboard for packed lunches. Tomorrow and Tuesday I've make a polenta bake (similar to a frittata) using spinach, onion and stilton. For Wednesday and Thursday I'm making a butternut squash and goats cheese farinata (chickpea flour pancake type thing) using odds and ends from the fridge. Happy to post recipes if anyone wants them.
Minimise- another wardrobe clear out now winter is abating. One large bin bag full of stuff I never wear to go on Ebay / to charity. I used the trick of turning all my coat hangers the wrong way round in the wardrobe, then putting them the right way round when I wore the item. Everything still the wrong way is going, bar a few specific exceptions (posh dresses!).August grocery challenge: £120/£1800 -
That farinata sounds interesting squeezed. I am always looking out for recipes which substitute gram/chickpea flour for wheat flour. mainly because we don't have any ethnic supermarkets, and gram and rice flour are the only alternatives available. so please post the recipe for me.
oh I made a cheesecake today - cant eat digestive bikkies so substituted Ginger oat biscuits, mixed with melted butter, chilled then made the cheese bit and got really retro and put a can of cherry pie filling on top! worked really well - I enjoyed it!0 -
Not been on here after posting...
Make do - trying to get together a list of what is in the cupboard and the caravan. Found two packets of country soup mix. Short of soup, can
I do anything else with this?
Minimise- not so good" bought a big plastic box of brio from the charity shop shop for £7. He's a bit too young but I couldn't resist
Mend - sewn tow little trousers and two DH jumpers
Just had very, very sad news that a friend has been diagnosed with terminal cancer. Thinking of all the missed dinners, fun times, etc. So very sad...0 -
