Orange Contract Problems, PLEASE HELP!!!
I dont know if anybody can help me but i any advice will be a real help.
My fiance signed up for a 12month contract with Orange for a member of her family. All was going fine until the 12months had expired. We wrote to Orange to cancel the contract and received what we thought was the final bill. But then the following month we received another bill. We wrote a second time to instruct the contract to be terminated but nothing has changed.
We now have a bill of £125 and the contract is still running.
We have no proof that the letters were send (eg recorded delivery) either
Any advice would be brilliant
Regards
Matt

have your rung orange to see what they said?
did you just send a letter or you phoned and were told to send a letter?Yes Your Dukeiness0 -
You can phone 150 and request cancellation that way. You can see if they received correspondance, but did not action the request.
they are unlikely to refund you anything. If you thought the contract was ended, you wouldn't have used your phone, and if you were unsure, you should have stopped using the handset, and you may have been able to use this as proof.
If they realise they did receive the document, but there was an error in relation to the disconection, the most they are likely to refund is the service line rental, and not the call charges themselves.
Best advice is if you want to cancel, call 150 and listen for option for disconnections.

Thanks for the reply's
The phone hasn't been used for over three months now. We initially rang up to cancel the contract, but were told to put the request in writing with 30days notice. Which we did.
I have rung orange three times today for over an hour each time, and have been cut off twice by some ignorant worker. I finally got through to someone who told me to put a complaint in writing and post it to them. I am fed up with letters they are getting me nowhere.

Your account is most likely in arrears if you havn't paid it.
I do not think they will action a disconnection request for accounts in arrears,(or collections) - i'm not 100% on that, just what i believe.
Write a letter, detailing your complaint. advise them of the letters you sent, and the dates sent also. Complain about the fact you were hung-up on. Detail to them how the phone has not been used for 3 months, and that the bills should support this.
Send either Recorded or special delivery. Ask for these costs to be refunded (not sure this'll be honoured)
That's the best thing i can suggest.
the least i imagine you will get is: a cancellation to your contract.
do this as soon as you can, to avoid further charges etc.

-you rang to disconnect
-a copy of the letter sent? and when it was sent?
-the fact the handset has not been used
-the fact that you have rung x amount of times to resolve the issue without sucessYes Your Dukeiness0
