Thank you all for your warm wishes. It's taken a few days but the news is sinking in. Ive told my boss and my notice is going in tomorrow, I have to give 2 months unfortunately, but never mind. The pension is only half as good, and I have to pay all my expenses up front and then claim them back, but these are small things that are far outweighed by the rise.
The job is homebased, so I need to get in touch with my accountant to see what tax breaks there might be for that, and of course there's no commute :j, there will be a fair bit of travel but that I'm used to.
and I also need to look for a good cash back credit card to use for the expenses.

Sounds very nice.
Perhaps make up the difference in pension from the pay rise? 0 -

Phew, well been bit of whirlwind couple of weeks. I've managed to negotiate a months notice, which means I'm leaving on 30th Sept. I am taking a week off which is not all frugal as I won't get paid for 10 days. However I'm going to make sure that I work on my other businesses for a week and get them into good shape. Because of the pay rise I'm getting I shouldn't be too much worse off.
Life feels very 'out of control' right now. Like I need to rein everything in, write it all down and ground myself.
Financially I'm just treading water

Checked my mortgage numbers today and updated the old signature. Nearly 5% gone, but it needs to be going faster than that :rotfl:
Took DS for his 2nd interview today for the royal marines, he has to go back in 6 weeks when he's bit fitter, they've given him a training plan.
