I hope it's OK for me to join in too.

Jazee, we lost our two cucumbers in the greenhouse, hubby has just put some seeds in. The two that died were bought as plants. Hope yours survive.

Hi Waterlilly - welcome to this very useful thread. I guess the others are out in the garden! Might be worth reading back for a couple of offers. So glad the weather is changing again - it will give us all a chance to do better.
Just back from the garden centre and can report they had 3 types of squashes all 1.99 or 3 for £5.

    Found the code:

And this voucher code is KG516, giving you £5 off your purchase, with a minimum spend of £6.50. They do some lovely selection packs of plants too, which have postage included.

These are for plug plants - so they'll cost just £2 delivered.
At that price it would be rude not to!

    :) Thanks, I will take a look

to ups and downs I would add ins and outs. Such a tricky spring so far and I have been bringing the tender plants, like squash and tomatoes, in at night as even a cold (small) greenhouse would not have been enough protection. I don`t have many plants now as I am only growing for me, so it is do-able.

Fleece whipped off the emerged charlottes this morning and there has been good growth, a little frost bitten underneath but nothing much. No sign of any sprouted seeds planted on the allotment, except lettuces, which are erratic, could well have been slugs. New lettuces sown in pots at home this morning

It is a difficult start this year, even the hoe-ed weeds have not re-rooted

Just been to check on things in the potting shed. No greenhouse here.

Sweetcorn are about 3 inches tall. Green beans are just breaking through. Lollo rosso are still not sprouting yet. Courgettes look good. Think I need to pot these on.

    Roll on the warm weather!

Potatoes are well up, covered at night. Nothing emerging on the seed beds. Rhubarb slow. Gooseberries rampant. Plums and pears in blossom, won't know until later if they caught the frosts. If this years carrots don't do well, that's it, cheap enough at times in the shops. Ditto unwashed taters from Morrisons.

I've put all the broad beans outside now. Although there are flowers and some beans growing on the green house ones, the ones I planted outside in the autumn appear to be the stronger plants so I won't bother with any in the greenhouse next year.

I've planted out the onions, leeks and rocket and some marigolds in between too, but have provided protection.

The cucumbers are not looking good. I'll probably have to start again.

Thanks for the code Fruittea but I've decided to stick with the seeds I have for now.

Tomorrow, I plan to move the sweet peppers from the indoor windowsill to the green house and plant some more seeds, both in the greenhouse and straight into the raised beds and pots.
Spend less now, work less later.

My broad beans seem to have really slowed down, will take a pic later.

No cucumbers at all here. Sowed 2 seeds, in 4 week intervals and still nothing

Hubby is putting the potatoes in today. Haven't put anything else out yet. Hope the weather improves soon because the stuff in the greenhouse is getting quite big, really needs to go out. It's a lovely day today but quite windy and coldish. It's still getting cold at night. Not sure how our cucumber seeds are going.
