Large slums developing in France

There is a real and growing problem with shed renting right here in the UK.
Just because they are not gathered together does not mean an individual shed is somehow much grander than a tent. It can suffer from the same problems of poor sanitation ; water; and power.
Are these economic migrants being sold an unrealisable dream by traffickers and others?0 -
I wonder if the people reporting on this have done anything to help them, or what they would do, if anything, if they were living across the road from a camp like that.0

It's all about supply me demnd , that's all that matters.
These slums have huge demand and not much supply, so house prices have to go up right?
It's got nothing to do with what people can afford it's just about there are not enough properties for all these poor refugees.......0 -

They should never have been allowed into Europe in the first place! I know what Britain's policy has been with regard to 'refugees', but what will happen to all the people that have been allowed into Germany once they get German passports? They will be able to roam all over Europe, including Britain, at will.
Leaving aside the questions of security and social unrest that is/will result from all this, just how (and why) should taxpayers support these people, when the health service and other services are already severely over-stretched and cannot cope with the indigenous population, much of which has contributed financially to it through taxes. It's complete madness.
And why are there visibly so many more Muslims in the UK than there were even a few years ago? How and why are they being allowed to enter the country, given our alleged policies re. migration from outside the EU?
Just one reason for voting for Brexit, in my view.0 -
Yes vote brixexit0

Haha, yeah. Brexit will solve the problem.
I suppose it could screw the economy to the point that migrants don't want to be in the UK any more but it doesn't take the UK out of Europe. You are trapped by geography.0 -
Seeing these slums is a sign of political failure..... where are the strong leaders with solutions?0

That is the solution, we are run by a bunch of communists who want to flood our entire country with as many of these people they can get away with and they will.I do Contracts, all day every day.0 -
The problem with homelessness/housing is that you can't solve it.
If you rip down those slums and send those people off down the road .... they will simply have to stop up the road and set up somewhere else. Problem is just moved, not solved.
If you create/find/generate housing for them, then others come as they hear there's housing there. Problem is increased, not actually solved.
Only 'solution' is to move them to somewhere else entirely .... e.g. housing back in their own country.0 -

Interesting point: I guess they all come from countries where the the dead hand of bureaucracy stifles trade, competition and innovation so may well be able to judge whether the euro dream of total rules and regulations and conformity is better that free trade, competition and diversity.0
