Ahoy there
Well done Wildthing and thriftwizard for sticking with the NBI :A
I have the same sort of conversations with myself in various shops - but the NBI habit gets easier with time and eventually becomes almost a reflex action :rotfl:
Suki - glad to see you again - a friend of mine has said flu and she has been out of commission for 8 weeks now - bless her!! There really are some nastly bugs going round - just hope silva is getting on ok as it sounded like she of all of us was going down with it too!!
Aril - teenogre - love it!!! brilliant word! If its not in the dictionary it should be!! :rotfl:
Well - not bin the best of days for me here - have a medical procedure tomorrow which I suspect will be uncomfortable and am not looking forward to it and found myself faffing about not doing much  Am cross with myself - there is nothing worse as one can hardly slam the door and walk out on one's self!!
NBI - did not spend entertainment budget as when I go to W!spoons there were only 2 of the gang there and they had already eaten - came home and had some HM frozen burgers instead -yum!!

Morning all
Just about keeping inside tight budgets and got paid today.....
Used 2 x nect@r vouchers to pay for petrol and an xmas gift M&S gift card to buy some food. Made A Girl called Jack's 9p burgers and homemade bread/rolls with stocks and bought a white cabbage which will make tonnes of h/m coleslaw.
I can't believe how much S/M's charge for fresh herbs when LIDLL only charge 35p lol (only buy occ. out of growing season).
Off to make a list & stick to it today. Happy Friday everyone xx0 -
Good Luck today Lyn fingers crossed it will be done and dusted asap.
Well done to thriftwizard for thinking twice before buying. Really it what we all do isn't it ,think once ,twice twice, then put it back:):)
NBI day today for me as the only time I am out today is to History club this afternoon, and that cash is set aside at the beginning of every month for the dues (part of my entertainment budget along with Quiz Night cash) so I have a goodly amount of cash left over in my food purse to stick into the holiday account on Monday when I draw my February cash out:):) freezer and stores in the cupboards have helped no end, plus lots of left over goodies donated by my DDs as they know I am like a hoover, and will eat virtually anything rather than bin it.My eldest in particular is fairly well off, and is very BBF date conscious, as I couldn't give a hoot what's dated on it, and so far nothing has bumped me off just yet
:)
Keep frugaling chums

Been out and about today, OH is off work so we went for a lovely little drive today - lots of petrol left for next week so I'm happy!
Must make a list tonight for our food shopping for the week. I have bread, sausages and one chicken breast left in our freezer and that's it! Definitely need to do little top up shop.
Other than that, got some free baby magazines off a friend and found a book I wanted at the charity shop quite cheap. I have my eye out for a baby book that frequently turns up in charity shops, so I'm sure I'll get it before summer.
OH and me sitting down tonight to talk budgets and moving..094 Sealed pot member! (7) €185 (8) €138 (9) €€250
Saving for our first home!0 -
Am very pleased with myself for NBI yesterday.
Went out with a friend who needed clothes for a long holiday in Australia n saw exactly my style of top for trousers. Not easy to find as I'm very large around and not tall. Was soooo tempted but finally remembered this thread and how well you all do at NBI so was able to resist it! :jUse it up, Wear it out, Make it do, Do without.0 -
Hi all,
Hope everyone is well. I have had four days of this week, and other than doing our weekly shop, I have resisted going in to town as I know I'll end up coming home with something unnecessary. Instead, I have been enjoying the simpler pleasures in life including a spot of bird watching in the garden. We also have a window bird feeder which has been teaming with life, and I even saw a butterfly today! Here's hoping for no more cold snaps!0 -
Well I'm not having the best of days, I'm full of cold and have bought my lunches yesterday and today all because I've gone off the soup I've made and I'm too lazy to make something else.
Least its the weekend now and I can rest up a bit. Saying that I have a hair appointment tomorrow and my mum wants to go out for lunch as it was my birthday yesterday....I'm not fussed but she keeps mentioning it to me so will go to keep her happy.
I've checked cupboards/freezer and I don't need any shopping this weekend so that should make up for my lunchtime spends this week.
Hope everyone is ok and will catch up probably Sunday night x0
