    Good morning lovely ladies

Well today's the day for my "procedure".... I have to confess I do have butterflies but hopefully as it is being done under a local anaesthetic it won't be too bad.

It can't be as bad as a scale and polish at the dentist.:rotfl: And, although Theres bound to be some bruising and swelling, I'm sure it won't be as bad as having the original cancer cut out. I've got some bio oil at the ready.;)

Anyway as a precautionary measure I have cleared my diary and have no appts booked now until Monday and that's only a nurses appt at the doctors so I can cancel that if needs be. I did a big food shop yesterday so I don't have to go out at all if I feel the need to stay in and recuperate - (or hide).........

I have plenty of "at home" activities to keep me occupied, some paperwork, paint an old headboard and Kondo the study. And, of course, if we get some nice weather then I'll just laze on a deckchair......:D

Chanie - Superdrug does a Vit E range. Dont know how it compares to the Body shop.

Ruby. You made me smile about the quinoa being "not too bad". Whenever I cook Or eat it I can hear my husband snorting with derision and asking "why are you eating bird seed"........

I agree it can be a bit bland. I usually add a bit of lemon or lime juice to the water when I cook mine. It peps it up a bit and of course any herbs or spices to jazz it up.

Speaking of non grain substitutes and lo carbing I have just received a vegetarian low carb cook book I ordered.

After watching the Angela Rippon programme last week, DS2 has decided that as he will be 30 next month it's time he started taking better care of his health so we have decided to try and incorporate a couple of vegetarian meals each week.

I'm not very practised in vegetarian cooking and need some help, especially as I can't fall back on grains .

I know that avoiding all grains sounds like a bit of a faff but now that I feel so much better I realise its well worth the effort. By strictly adhering to a grain free regime and introducing a daily probiotic I am now almost pain free. I have startied slowly reducing my IBS meds and although the scales aren't shifting, I have lost 2 inches from my waistline, so definitely an improvement.

I have to confess I do miss nice bread and croissants but I guess it's a small price to pay for being pain free. Perhaps when my tummy is fully healed I can indulge once in a blue moon with no ill effects.

    Right, time to get cracking.

All went well, no real pain just a bit "tingly" - so far one tiny bruise, a few pin p r I c k marks and minimal swelling.

Just have to wait and see if there is any more bruising tomorrow but so far so good. Follow up appointment next Thursday to check all is well.

I can see an improvement already, definitely more symmetrical. :D

LL - good to read your update, was thinking of you yesterday:)

Sugarbaby - have a great birthday, love the way that you are so upbeat. :D

It's rather damp and grey here weather wise, so Fab Friday will be casual, with waterproof jacket and trainers, but make up will be applied and accessories will be bright and cheerful:D

    Happy Birthday Sugarbaby. :bdaycake:

How lovely to hear that you are feeling so happy on your special day. Hope you have a wonderful time. Are you seeing your new man.

Well now........ The anaesthetic has worn off and my face feels a bit tender but nothing I can't cope with. I've not even bothered with Any painkillers, it's fine. There is no bruising or swelling, just a few little raised pin p r I c k s and a bit of blotchiness which will probAbly disappear soon. I am quite happy to go out and about because there is nothing to see. I won't wear make up - just in case- but TBH I look reasonable without it.

I am very happy with the immediate result although I am assured that, unlike Botox or fillers, the full effects won't be really apparent for several weeks yet. As well as having a "lifting" effect the threads also stimulate the production of collagen which as you know keeps skin looking plump and youthful. It's the loss of collagen and elastin which cause wrinkles.

Anyway it looks slightly lifted in general and of course it has evened out the lopsided effect. So I too am very happy :D

I go back for a review next week and........ta dah ......I have decided to have little bit of Botox on my frown lines.;)

I trust the surgeon. He is very careful and I am confident he won't give me a frozen face because of his honesty. I said I did not want the frown lines eradicated, merely softened a little. He just smiled and said he couldn't eradicate them if he tried - they are too deep.

I had to laugh when he pointed out that I do have quite a large forehead (to house all those brains, ha, ha) and he said he would only do a little because he didn't want to risk me looking like Neanderthal Woman, because giving me too much would lower the brow. Cheeky devil.

I really feel that I'm in safe hands and that he won't make me look silly or plastic or fake.

I know it all sounds very vain but having lived my whole life with a birthmark and then the after effects of cancer surgery it's so nice to finally have a face which is "normal" - iyswim. :rotfl:

I grew to tolerate the birthmark and not to let it spoil my life but I was glad to see it go. And whilst the cancer scars were almost invisible I did feel a bit self conscious about my lopsided face, although to be fair no one else seemed to notice it.

Don't get me wrong, my face will never be perfect but then I've always felt that it's not necessary to be perfect in order to be attractive.

Some of the most beautiful women throughout history have had imperfect faces. I think quirky and difference is good. I don't think that women should aspire to Disneyesque Barbie Doll perfection but that we should celebrate difference.

Having said all that I am glad to have finally plucked up the courage to address the issues. I have never been very confident about my looks - having a disfigurement is not conducive to confidence boosting - and of course being the plainer older sister to my sister's outstanding beauty didn't help but I am really happy with what I now see in the mirror. ;)

I have booked a hair appt for a couple of weeks time - hopefully that will be the icing on the cake.

In the immortal words of Gloria Swanson in Sunset Boulevard "I am ready for my close up, Mr DeMille".:rotfl:

Actually I have taken a few piccies and shall do so every few days to keep a record. I might even post them at some point. :rotfl:

sugarbaby happy birthday, I hope you are having a lovely day.

ll pleads your procedure has gone well. Your comment about looking perfect reminded me of Jennifer Grey from Dirty Dancing. She stopped getting work after her nose job, as no one recognised her. I do prefer her old nose as it gave her face some character.

It's a rainy day in London, same as maddie and maman. I popped to the shopping centre today and bought loads of fruit and veggies, including some mushrooms, which I had for lunch, with scrambled eggs. It's an absolute pleasure having fresh produce as the taste is so much better.

I'm back fabbing now and feel so much better. I hadn't fallen off the bandwagon, but I'd let some maintenance slide for a couple of weeks. Luckily, it's been easy to get back to where I should be as the good habits are already there.

Hello Ladies thank you for all of your birthday wishes.

I had a really lovely day. I went on a date with my new man and had such a good time with him. He was very complimentary and very attentive. We went to Nando's again as I had to ask him to cancel the restaurant of his choice, because it was too far away and I did not fancy eating about 11pm. He gave me money in my birthday card, as we have only been dating for such a short time, that he could not decide what to buy me. He said he was too afraid of getting it wrong. I will be buying myself clothes and a pair of shoes. eBay here I come. :T

We have other dates planned for this evening and tomorrow evening. We really like being with each other. :j

I got a bunch of different coloured roses from my younger daughter also £45. My younger son who is only 15 years old, gave me £45 as well. I got 24 yellow roses from one of my sisters along with a box of Lindt chocolates and a large personalised card, all delivered to my home by courier as she lives in Birmingham and I live in London. :T

I am having my oven professionally cleaned this morning from some of the birthday money I received. £45 will never be better spent. :j

I bought an Osprey black patent leather handbag with another £41 of my birthday money on eBay. I would normally consider that way too much money even for such a great brand, but I was able to indulge myself for my birthday with no guilt. It would have cost me £95 in store, so it was a real bargain. It will get plenty of use. :T
