Sugarbaby how exciting that you'll be on the quiz show:) TV quizzes are a guilty pleasure of mine so there's a good chance I might see your TV debut! :)

Hi Ladies just a flying visit!

DD19 had a brilliant day at Buckingham Palace receiving her DoE Gold award, she also got to meet the cast of Harry Potter. In the end her dad and her grandad went with her, and I took my mum around London playing tourist, so I didn't have to worry what to wear, I went for smart comfort, then we all met up later for a meal.

Please do keep me in your thoughts and prayers, just found out this afternoon BHS (my job) is now in liquidation, this along with bad news from hubbys business, makes us all a bit stressed about what kind of summer our family is going to have - and I have my OU level 2 exams for 3 hours tomorrow which I was already stressed about. It is going to be quite an exercise to put it out of my mind and breathe :p
No buying unnecessary toiletries 2014. Epiphany on 4/4/14 - went into shop to buy 2 items, walked out with 17!

Quick post to say I'm thinking of you shandy. Not looking at all good on the BHS front but good luck with your exam and hopefully improving qualifications (and the thread;)) will boost your confidence to look for an even better job.

Many congratulations to your DD, so pleased you all had a lovely day.:A

Shandy good luck with your exam tomorrow. It will be difficult to keep yourself from feeling stressed, but for now just concentrate on doing your best in your exam. You are strong and capable and I know you can do it. :)

Sorry that both you and your husband are now going through such a worrying time with regards to the liquidation of BHS and the bad news with your husband's business.

Shandy, very best wishes for the imminent exam and for the job situation for you both, horrid uncertain times for you all. (Virtual hugs on their way)

  • Good luck for the exam shandy, so sorry to hear the BHS news. I hope you find something else soon and things aren't too stressful in the meantime.

Onwards and upwards sugarbaby, Wayne is probably regretting his decision already, and how exciting about the quiz show!! If you have a look on Travelzoo there's an offer on there for Madame Tussauds, the London Eye, the London Aquarium and the Shrek adventure for £54 - pretty good value if you're interested in that sort of thing. I'd like to visit the Shrek one but have been to the others, will look for special offers just for that one; I spent my Tesco club card vouchers on Woburn Safari Park tickets, but Pizza Express sounds really good value!

I've had my hair done today Ellsbel, first time this year. A cut and Brazilian blow dry has made a huge difference :D I colour it myself, have done for years, always had disappointing results at the hairdressers and then gave up trying.

Hope your first day back on the Paleo wagon went well LL, and that you enjoyed the yoga! I've bought a couple of Yogalates DVDs from Amazon, only around £3 each, will try those once we get back on Monday. I think all you wise ladies are right, I've had more of a jolt than I realise from the car accident, the thought of a more vigorous DVD is painful :(

Wish me luck though everyone, tomorrow we are off to visit my dad for the weekend as it's his birthday - it's a 200 mile drive which is by far the furthest we've travelled with the babies, no idea how long it will take!!

Shandy.....so sorry to hear your does about BHS and your husbands business. Worrying times for you. Good luck with the exam tomorrow, try and leave your job worries at the door and focus on you.

Sugarbaby - loving the idea of your sightseeing trips round London - right up my street. It's definitely on my to do list, that and Liverpool.
I do like city breaks, my oh and I used to do them regularly in happier times.

And great news about the Quizz show. Do let us know more when you can. One of my friends is quite a regular on Quizz shows, she loves them.

Paleo has gone well, managed a bit of gardening and did all my errands so a good day.

Have just renewed my rail card, bought a 3 year one this time. The savings on the London trip and the U.K. Section of the journey to Belguim will just about pay for it, anything after will be pure profit.

RUbyslippers - Good luck with the journey. The worst bit will be loading the car up with all the equipment ........
  • I love your notebook idea too LL, it helped me enormously when I was setting up my DMP. I'll see if I can find an app for it instead, the babies have a habit of getting squashed carrot/ biscuit/ Weetabix over any important documents!

Good luck with the journey ruby hopefully the babies will sleep at least part of the way.

I enjoyed Liverpool LL been there a few times but mostly working in the daytime so haven't seen all the sights. DH managed to fit in Paul McCartney and John Lennon's homes which are NT properties and he drove out to Port Sunlight. I enjoyed the Walker gallery when I had some time. We stayed at A Premier Inn on Albert Dock which is in a great old building and very convenient location.
Let us know what sort of things you enjoy Sugarbaby and maybe we can come up with ideas. There are self guided and other free walks online and still plenty of free museums and galleries if that's your thing. I think it's a brilliant idea to plan your staycation. Enjoy Pizza Express. I like it there, it's more like a proper restaurant than your average pizza place.
