Rant---M & S sale

I agree with most of the replies here.
My main gripe and perhaps I should have been clearer in my OP, was that by been given priority by M&S as a Sparks card holder I was disadvantaged.
Although as had been said would the items still have been available later.
But you weren't disadvantaged at all. It wasn't "50% off for Sparks members to get it it early, then non-members will get a bigger discount" as it was "up to 50%" off for a week. Even now it's "up to 60% off" it doesn't mean that everything has been reduced by 60%, "up to" means that this is the maximum discount and the items I bought Wednesday were still discounted by 50% or less.0 -
M&S are a place I'll usually go to at traditional sales time. You know what you're getting quality wise and 90% of the time the only sticking point is price. At the end of a clothing season, and after Christmas for food and gifts, they will reduce at whatever it takes to shift that stock.
In one word, unlucky, but better to have it at 50% than it sell out as soon as it hit 60%. 50% off an M&S item is invariably good value (provided of course that one way or another you would have been looking to buy either that or an equivalent).0 -

I thought they looked quite fetching, in fact I liked them so much I ordered the purple option too.0 -

Not really, because you weren't forced to buy in the priority period, it was your choice to do so.
Even as a Sparks priority person, you could still have waited until laterEarly retired - 18th December 2014

Retailers will pitch the price to clear the stock. So at 50% off it should all go, but it doesn't (loyalty cardholders haven't bought as much as expected). So reduce to 60% off and hope!If you are querying your Council Tax band would you please state whether you are in England, Scotland or Wales0

Her Indoors did that before Xmas. She'd bought a jumper as a present ... a week later it was on sale with 30% off, so she bought it again and returned the original for a full refund.0 -

Are you my dad? My mum does this all the time! The trouble with the world is that the stupid are cocksure and the intelligent are full of doubt.Bertrand Russell0 -
I bought some things from John Lewis, lo and behold the next day they were 20% off as JL were price matching. I rang JL and immediately got the 20% off. Did this with a TV in September, too.0
