Rant---M & S sale

Right so having taken out a M&S. Sparks card, they gave me priority
viewing of their sale with selected items at 50% off.

Purchased a few things only to find that they are now selling them at 60% off.

Yes I know I shouldn't have looked today but I did and I'm not happy.

Rant over.

Prices always go down in the sale if they do not sell. You get a bargain now or hang on in the hope they will have your size when the prices down again.

The usual M&S rant is that you order and a week later they tell you they've gone out of stock, not that they've still got stock! As for your complaint, it happens, I ordered something from Boden that then had another 10% off today, I'm not complaining because I'm happy with the price I paid ;)

Yes but wouldn't you have been happier with a further 10% off?

And if you had bought them today at 60% off then you would be upset next week when they increase the discount to 70%.

You take the risk as if you wait a couple more days in hope the prices will reduce again. There maybe none left or in terms of clothing, or your size.

Oh, for "the good old days" when we had sales twice a year. We knew exactly when prices would come down.

When my daughter was in her teens and wanted expensive things that she knew I couldn't afford she'd ask for an after-Christmas present, so she'd get her little Santa things and tree presents on Christmas Day then we'd go to The Sales on Boxing Day for her bike or whatever she wanted that year. Sigh... life was so simple back then.

Maybe tomtontom is happy paying 50% of the full price rather than risking that the item she wants is out of stock.

Of course, and I would be even happier if I could find it on ebay for a tenner, or maybe a friend will buy it, not like it and give it me for free?

The point remains I saw a price I was happy with and so purchased it. If I continued to wait just in case the price reduced again (and again?) then I would be waiting forever.

As for your M&S purchase, if they still have stock at the end of the sale the item could well be reduced to £5. Are you willing to chance it?

I agree with most of the replies here.

My main gripe and perhaps I should have been clearer in my OP, was that by been given priority by M&S as a Sparks card holder I was disadvantaged.

Although as had been said would the items still have been available later.
