No Buying Unnecessary Toiletries January 2016

  • Welcome back rogueylawyer!

    I have three UUs today:

Boots Tea Tree and Witch Hazel Spot Wand: This was a load of rubbish and didnt help at all - WDNBA. I have had a massive spot breakout so I have bought a targeted breakout correcter from La Roche Posay as I've heard good things,

Lush Snow Fairy 100g: I still can;t make up my mind as to whether I like this, even after using the whole product! WMBA.

Boots Cucumber 3 Minute Clay Mask 50ml: I have no idea what is going on but the whole of the Boots cucumber range does not like my skin one bit (and I haven't got sensitive skin). This mask and the moisturiser from the same range make my face burn like nothing ever has before, luckily I managed to get the product off before it made my face red. I wonder what could've caused such a reaction! WDNBA and will be avoiding at all costs!

Lots more products are nearly finished :)

I've finished an eyeliner!! I feel strangely proud of myself, I never thought this day would come. It had got to the point where I couldn't sharpen it anymore so I got a knife out and shaved it down to the end. In fact, it may have been on my 6x6 list, I'll have to check.

Well done, though be careful with that knife!
    Hello everyone!
I haven't posted on here in months and need to get back into the swing of things - I went a bit mad in the christmas sales so hoping I can avoid buying any more products for the rest of the year but we shall see!

so far this month i've only managed to finish a BS raspberry shower gel.

    Welcome back.

I feel as though things will really slow down now until the end of the month. Only 13 days left of Jan though.
Back for the No Buying Toiletries challenge. I pledge to only buy when I run out of a product that is not already in my stash no matter what wonderful emails land in in my Inbox or threads I read on MSE re: glitches!

Ooo I like the 6 by Spring challenge.

    I'm going to choose:
    Benefit Foamingly Clean Facial Wash
    Benefit Dallas
Benefit longwear powder shadow in call my buff
Benefit longwear powder shadow in kiss me, I'm tipsy/it's complicated
Benefit longwear powder shadow in gilt-y pleasure
    [STRIKE]Maybelline chunky kohl pencil[/STRIKE]

I know I have 7 but I alternate kiss me, I'm tipsy and it's complicated so I'm counting them as one.

Found it! The eyeshadows are going well also, there's lovely dents in them and I have been wearing them every day. Excited for them all to go!!:T:T

Seeing as I still haven't got round to my inventory, I'm going to do what some people have recently done and post UUs.

Bannatyne's Day Moisturiser - WMBA - I bought this as part of a set for £30 - day moisturiser, cleanser and mask. Would buy again as part of a set but would not pay full price. It felt nicer when I first started using it as I'd been previously using Simple moisturiser but now I can afford my trusty L'Occitane moisturiser I now feel like my skin is back on track.

Almost out of my Radox pink grapefruit shower gel but I don't think I'll need to buy any shower gel for the rest of the year due to the S&G giftsets I got for Christmas.

So this 6 for Spring challenge - is Spring classed as 1st March?

I'll have a look this week and see what I'd like to use in this :)
    #27 £2016 in 2016 = £763.61

    #42 £2 Savers Club = £160

*Savers Club not included in overall 2016 savings until the tin is opened and my estimates have been confirmed later in the year.

    1) Lord & Berry black eyeliner pencil

2)Bare Minerals Brow Pencil- universal taupe.

    3) Rimmel Scandaleyes eyeliner pencil in nude.

4)Bare Minerals Marvellous Moxie lip gloss in the shade go getter

    [STRIKE]5)Monu illuminating primer- 20ml sample size.[/STRIKE]

6)Elf concealer in the shade Rosy Beige.

I've given up on the Monu Primer. Life is too short and I hate it. It's gone in the bin!

Update on the rest of my 6 By Spring items- The eyeliner is almost UU, have been using the eyebrow pencil and the nude eyeliner in waterline daily. So progress is being made. I've been using the ELF concealer daily under the eyes and again it's nearly finished. The only item I need to work a bit harder at is the lip gloss, I keep forgetting to use it :rotfl: it's not my favourite. I like the colour, but it's a very sticky, thick gloss and it's got the minty tingly thing going on- which I'm not keen on.

Oh! I can also finally declare the BS Vit E moisturiser as UU! :j It was the face cream that just wouldn't end! WMBA, I like it more in the summer, when my skin is less dry. It needs something thicker atm.

Also have 2 INs to declare, 2 nail varnishes, that takes me to 8 nail polish INS this month :o not good!
They're upstairs, and I've forgotten the names, so will pop later to update properly :)

Happy new year everyone, especially Deleted_User for starting this year's first thread! :j

I have bought *quite* a lot of stuff in the January sales, but does it count if it is all intended as presents? I could 'add' it to my stash if I ever decide to use it.

I do have a UU, though: Mitchum deodorant stick. It's really good but I'm starting to notice white marks on the underarms of my tops. Any ideas of how to get rid of them, ladies...if anyone knows, it's a pile of beauty-obsessed ladies! :rotfl:

I have been wearing Call my bluff the last couple of days too.

I have TA a nail colour tonight : OPI Alkatraz Rocks. Seemed gloopy when I opened it. Not a fan of the liquid sand texture either so out it goes. Am wearing OPI Animalistic.

  • Hello all! Hope everyone is staying warm. My skin is so dry now so I'm slathering on moisturisers, serums, primers and a dewy foundation just to keep my skin glowing.

    House smells great - wba

    Superdrugs hair dye - wba

Lush - So white bath bomb - wnba

Lush - Ocean Salt face scrub - wba

Lush - Skin shangra la skin lotion - wba

  • I have some Uu's to report:

Alberto balsam blends colour bright conditioner - Wmba because it was cheap, and I did like the smell. Not sure it did that much for my hair though. It didn't make my hair any softer and I've had better results with others.

Beauticology marshmallow frosting body butter 50ml- Wnba which is a shame as the scent was okay. However it was a pain to get it to rub in, it took forever. Didn't really feel very moisturising either :( I would use if I get it as a gift again but wouldn't buy it I think I do prefer boots extracts or TBS for body butters. This wasn't really a butter either it was more a lotion. Replaced it with boots extracts cocoa butter one.

Lush cinders bath bomb- Wmba but I have another anyway in stash. This smelled lovely out the water but once in the scent disappeared I couldn't really smell it in the water or on my skin :-( it just left the water a pale yellow colour (I felt like I was sat in my own pee). Im not sure if it was just a bit old (it was from last Christmas). I was a bit miffed as I like its scent out of the water. I will try the fresh one from this years sale and see if that's any better.

Sanex dermo pro hydrate deodoeant spray - WBA really liked this. The shape of the can I find easy to hold and it does a great job. Pleasant scent. Will get more of this when I've used what I have in stash. Replaced with asda cotton blossom one.
