Paying for Home heating oil

Options
Hi there,

I have searched the forum but cannot find the answer to this anywhere but I apologise if it has already been covered.

I have moved into a rental property and have oil fired central heating for the first time.

Is there any companies that allow you to pay for the oil over a monthly basis instead of paying in one lump sum. All the companies I rang quoted one lump sum price and I just don't have £300 spare to do this:eek:

I live in Nottinghamshire so any hints or ideas would be greatly appreciated. (I don't have a credit card or time to apply for one and wait for it to come and use it as I need to get the tank filled ASAP)

Many thanks in anticipation.

I think in the short term I'm afraid the answer is probably no. Companies do do a monthly payment scheme, but as far as I am aware, its payment in advance, ready for your next refill.
I can't see anyone giving you £300 worth of oil and letting you pay it off over a few months, especially as you are in rented housing.
Sounds like no easy answer, but you shouldn't need heating just yet, you may have time to apply for a CC.
    Best of luck.

    Thankyou for the reply.
I fear I will have to go to the "bank of sister" and loan the money. Unfortunately my hot water runs off the oil tank so I keep having to put it on to get hot water for bathing my son but also me:rotfl:
Thanks for replying. I shall appraoch my sister!!! and apply for the CC for next time!!!!

You might have an immersion heater on your hot water tank, have a look for a wire coming out of the side/top of your tank and connected to a electrical switch.
I presume you haven't got a electric shower then?
