    Morning all

Weather has been so warm last few days so slowed down with the de clutter but still managing to make headway -
    5. Box of papers sorted some filed but mostly binned/shredded
    6. Box used for CS
    7. 20 books from attic placed in box and put out for CS collection
    8. 4 ancient boxes of cereal binned
    9. Huge heavy metal casserole dish that I will never use unless catering for 50 people!
    10. Woollen dress donated to CS
    11. Spare phone charger given to friend
    12. dress donated to one friend
    13. dress and jacket donated to another friend
    14. Book given to friend's grandchild
    15. Metal supports and three shelves ready for weekly tip trip
    16. Several empty bottles of shampoo/conditioner chucked

Anyone else finding lots of 'other' peoples stuff lying around? Maybe it is not all me.
Hope everyone has a good day

Other people's stuff lying around? All the time at mine. Always the same culprit my bf! Walking hoarder that he is. We live apart but he frequently stays at mine (coz his place is mess, I suspect) and he always gets sent up the road with bags of excess stuff that just accumulates. Apparently 7 drawers, an entire deep three shelf bathroom unit, half a closet clothes rail, and two wide shelves in a shelving unit are just not enough for his overnight stays!!

Anyway, still out of my flat post carpets, on a countdown to the joiner arriving so doors will once again open. It is an experience at the bfs as I just can't live and function in his space. So far I've done the bathroom twice, kitchen 3 times, started on the bedroom and made good progress in the living room. Think he is finding it a bit of a challenge too as usual he can stay in his own hovelly ways without being made to hover or empty the dishwashers. On the plus side I've managed to get him to part with some worn out carp!

  • Haven't been here for ages, but need to write it down to keep up motivation. Various carrier bags of junk to school for junk modelling, bags of clothes to children's centre for redistribution, unused craft items to local mental health charity for use on craft courses. The bags themselves, unused/lightly worn bras to Small for All, stained uniform to charity shop for ragging, other items to charity shop.

Also lots of papers etc binned/recycled, toiletries used up (trying not to buy more).
And my work has a battery recycling bin so I take batteries to work rather then have to remember to take them to the tip.
Postcards sent out to various people, books to friend.

It is good to know I'm not alone in this battle. Only my bf isn't very handy so can't put up shelves. He just piles things up on his sofas

All our hard work is getting through to other people. Go us!

Last night my bf (with some encouraging remarks from me) has a small pile of stuff boxed up and ready to be passed onto an app book company and he is delighted with the dosh!

As for me the joiner turned up as he said he would and all my doors can now open again. Delighted with the job. Tomorrow starts the slow process of the moving of furniture back.

    1203. Item sold online
    1204. Box for item
    1205. Shower gel used up

That's all from me for now but I'm sure I will be adding to the list tomorrow.

Well done for getting through to your bf Fiasco

    901. Dead Storage box - bin
    902. Dead storage bag - bin

I only normally count physical decluttering against my target but I wanted to report that I've today renewed my tax credit award which has been hanging around for MONTHS - deadline on Sunday. It was really weighing heavily for me as I've needed to declare self-employed income for the first time - I thought it was going to be really complicated and it wasn't once I got to speak to an Advoser .... phew....
