Terms for Lenovo Warranty support.lenovo . com/gb/en/documents/ht050462
The screen has developed white spots and yellow in the corner. They are saying because you have dropped the laptop its not covered by warranty.
Is there anyway to fight this?

What this Warranty Does not Cover
- failure resulting from misuse, accident, modification, unsuitable physical or operating environment, or improper maintenance by you
Nope, no chance at all.0 -
A warranty is for manufacturing faults (unless you bought one with accidental cover) but in this case it's self inflicted.
You could try your house insurance if you have the right cover.0 -
Did you in fact drop the laptop, and did the problem appear after that? If so then Rogue is spot on (pun intended!).0

Even if the fault appeared before dropping the item, it would then be a case of trying to prove that. Im presuming Lenovo will say that on the balance of probabilities the fault occurred due to the drop.0 -
I've sent a complaint letter through Resolver. The engineer did come, when he checked the laptop he saw the cover clips were broken and CD driver cover wasn't there and took pictures.

Have you dropped the laptop?
Why are the cover clips broken and the CD driver cover missing?0 -
I brought it like this condition.0

You bought it in a damaged condition?I brought it like this condition.
Did you buy it secondhand? If so, is the warranty transferable?
It really doesn't matter when it was dropped, or by who.
If the manufacturer believes that the problem is due an issue described in post#2, then a repair under warranty is unlikely.
You still haven't answered the question "Have you dropped the laptop?"
From your reluctance to answer that, can we assume that you have dropped the thing?0 -
Warranty seems transferable because they fixed the cpu fan and they didn't say nothing about it.
I didn't drop it. Its second hand0 -
Well it could have been dropped previously. The fact that bits are missing suggest that it was either dropped or roughly handled before you bought it. Bits don't tend to just come off under normal use.
Perhaps the first engineer didn't notice the damage or didn't think it was relevant to the repair so just carried on with the repair anyway? Second engineer has taken the view that it has been misused by you or by whoever had it previously and this has caused the fault.0
