Nice summary by Mrs Bee there.
On linking bank accounts, yes it's pretty much restricted to the US at the moment but DON'T DO IT if/when it becomes available to those with UK bank accounts. Giving out bank details is a big no-no, especially if you are defrauded as your bank will not reimburse you. Also, budgeting is supposed to take a step back from bank accounts aside from reconciliation, so why would you want to do it?
The 10% offer mentioned relates only to the annual fee as implied - I asked YNAB this and they said so explicitly.
I couldn't wrap my head around spending money to budget either, until I got YNAB 2 weeks ago and it's completely reformed my spending. And I was already very good. It's EASILY saved me the would-be $5 fee (free trial at the mo) already. EASILY.
If you're not sure, try the free trial. Also, definitely attend the free webinars. They run through the changes.0 -
Thank you bobobski, I thought I paid a one-off fee for ynba, not yearly?
Great I will do the free trial.
Thanks so muchLBM 26.12.2015

YNAB4 was a one off fee but nYNAB is monthly ($5) or annual ($50), with the 10% lifetime discount on annual fee if you sign up by the end of January. If you bought YNAB4 in the last year or so they will knock some of the price off nYNAB.
Have fun playing around with it! I think it's great but I never had YNAB4. Bear in mind they are continuing to make changes - since they released it in 30 Dec, they've added the calculator, for example.
P.S. it's YNAB (you need a budget), not YNBA0 -
Thank you very much. that is where I am getting it wrong you need budget aLBM 26.12.2015

I just signed up for the trial and have to say I think it's great! I'd be happy to pay for it I think but I'll use it for the month and see how I get on with it.Overall Goal: Debt Free by 2019:Amount remaining to pay off: £36415
Total Debt on Jan 1st 2016 £36415Amount paid off so far: £00 -
Have you attended the webinars too? They're really useful, they're free and the teachers take questions. I had some of mine answered there and then. Also, Americans are just funny when they're enthusiastic. I might do another one just as a pick-me-up.0
