The dealership manager is now on the case. Apparently the issue is with one of the door locks which sometimes doesn't engage - but he doesn't know what the fix might be yet. He has offered to let us inspect the car fully to reassure ourselves that there is nothing else wrong with the car. Also, the finance on the old car has been settled and so we are effectively driving it as a courtesy car. The manager says he's going to spend Monday on the phone to find out when and how the car can be fixed, and to see what other deals they can offer us (a suggestion was that they pay the first monthly instalment for us).

That's good, hopefully he will keep you updated with no more fob offs.

Glad you are making some headway.

I wouldn't be surprised if this problem also affects many more cars, but your one has been caught first.

I would think so if the car is not in your possesion!
