I feel like I might have taken a tiny step back on the debt repayments. I haven't really, but I've dropped the amount I am putting towards my debts as I want to have a life at the same time! So it might take me a bit longer, but my debts are still lower than at the start of the year, and I am still making progress!

Hubs is finally back from his 4 week training course, and we're going away next week for a little break which I am looking forward to.

Not much else to report really, bills are all paid, I have been really good and meal planned for the week. I have my gym visits scheduled for Tues, Thurs, Fri and Saturday and I'm hoping to not drinking til Saturday. We have decided that we will be going sober, but gradually, and not drinking in the week is going to be my first steps to this.

We bought some festival tickets (only £50 each for 2 days!) and so I am going to be on the hunt for a cheap B&B/hotel or maybe even campsite for us, as we'll be there 2 nights, so thats a little break in August for us.

Car needs its MOT this month, which I am not looking forward to...... Will need to see what I can do to help it pass!

It's been a while since I updated. I really have slowed down with my over payments, but life got in the way. Car needed MOT and new tyres and things just felt really expensive last month.

My total repayments for the year however, stand at £753.85, I'm happy with the figure. I'm making progress, and it's little by little going down. I have 2 debts that will be paid off in about 2 months, freeing up an extra £60 a month, I'm making small over payments on all my other debts (snowballing does not seem to work for me) and over all, what I owe is going down and not up!

Still going to the gym, not as often as I'd like but something I just don't want to, hub's hours are all over the place and I really just need to get into a routine and stick with it. I should go tonight really, and do a 2 mile run if I don't today, I certainly will tomorrow, Thurs and Friday.

I have been really strict with my diet the last couple of weeks and have seen a 2lb loss as a result, I'm happy to lose 1lb a week so this is all good.

Not much else to report really, just waiting to hear from one more PDL company re: my complaint, will be interested to see what the outcome it is. Their 8 weeks are up this week and I'm still waiting for a response, so have sent a little chaser.

Will make an effort to post more often!

Today has been a good day for getting my ducks in a row.

I have fired off a F & F offer to one of my creditors as I am due back my last refund from PDL companies. In addition to my F&F offer I am going to clear 2 debts in full. If all this works out it will see me have an extra £85 at my disposal each month. So I will put £50 towards more debt over payments and £35 into an emergency fund.

My debts are slowing getting lower, and I feel like they are manageable at present. I do need to knuckle down and stop spending quite so much, this month has been a big month of spends but I'm not sure where it has all gone!

Looking for a cheap break for our wedding anniversary in two weeks time. I have been quite good at not drinking in the week. I have started a new fitness class and I am going to put my name in the ballot for the London marathon next year!

£776.09 paid off in total so far this year, £4171.53 left to go! I'm sure I will be debt free by the time I'm 30 if not sooner!

    Hi Boatdweller,

    I've subscribed!

Pre getting a mortgage I seriously considered boat life, I then settled and decided to get a house and mortgage as OH persuaded me. We then split up. It's all amicable, so not a huge drama, but I'm now re-considering life on water! I've got one more year left at Uni, so was considering once I've finished I'll seriously consider selling my share of the house to my ex, who says he wants to buy off me when I'm ready.

Have subscribed, hope you don't mind me asking you for boat tips and advice closer to the time!

    How's the running going?

Hi slicence! Don't mind you asking questions at all. I'm so glad we went ahead and did it, I can't imagine living anywhere else now!

My F&F was rejected, no bother, it drops off my credit file in December and will be paid in full next year so don't think I'll bother trying again.

Running is going well, I have signed up to a half marathon in September so I have a goal to focus on. Aiming to run 5 times this week. It's still short distances so manageable.

I have started volunteering for a dog shelter, so my Sunday mornings are spent hanging out with various puppies which is lovely, and certainly stopping me from going out on a Saturday as I have to be up at 7!

I need to get back into meal planning and prep. That's my aim this weekend, to spend my afternoon on Saturday getting myself ready for the week ahead.

I am renting a house for a year and putting the boat idea on the back burner. I have to apply for secondary school for DS and the only marina with residential moorings is in another authority.

The other thing is that we are having a bit of a hard time finding a narrow boat with two cabins and within our budget. We are not giving up though just getting there a bit more slowly than most I guess.:o

That's frustrating MJ - there is one on at Whilton Marina with 2 cabins, which made me think of you!

Some of my defaults have started to drop off my file!! WOOOOO.

The big ones will be later in the year, but I feel like I have made a lot of progress in the last couple of years. It's slow going, but I'm enjoying life at the same time.

Three accounts will be shut down next month, and the extra cash I will have available will go on getting rid of the last 3 CCs.- I say get rid, I'll keep them open but pay them off.

I have 2 debts that were sold onto DCAs. No having any luck getting F&F offers accepted on them, but these will drop off my file in December, so I guess I should just leave them be, One will take another 2 or 3 years to pay off, but it's a small amount and the main thing is not on my credit file.

I'm feeling a bit down at the moment, not sure why, not sure of the trigger, but just feeling the need to retreat away from company and the like for a while. Not that I am the most social of people to begin with, but I just want to sleep all the time or sit at home with a book. I might chat to hubs about it tonight.

Need to go for 3 runs this week to keep up with my training, running cheers my up too so maybe that will help.

Sorry to hear you are feeling down. It seems to me you have worked so hard to eliminate debts and getting your boat adventure in place you may need some peace to charge batteries . By all means have a drink and soak up the sun.

I still haven't heard back from the estate agent. Ball tis process of renting a house re under me why I don't want to do it anymore. Mind you we need financing for the boat so even if we got a boat tomorrow we would still have to live with a "mortgage" for a minimum of 10 years.

Two accounts have been cleared today yay!! I am winning. It's slow progress, but that's because I'm trying to live my life at the same time.

Plan now is to focus on one of my credit cards, get that paid in full, then onto the next and so on and so on. Ideally I'd like to see if towards the end of the year I can get a balance transfer card to help with the interest I am paying, but I'll have to wait until my detaults have come off my file before I do that.

I feel in control which is good. I am able to treat myself to things which I'd never have been able to do 5 years ago.

It's also likely that we'll have the boat paid off next year, which means my disposable income will increase even more!

Not much else to report really. Just going to keep at it.
